Default What Paul and Helen think: this weeks NOTW

Here's what they wrote, although of course since then things have moved on a little. Anyway folks, they're NOT impressed!

What a shocker that was, Alison going, writes HELEN. I liked Alison I did.

Now she’s gone Kate is going to latch onto Spencer a lot more. But she really needs to toughen up. She’s meant to be a kick-boxer but she cries at anything and everything.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she and Spencer start openly sharing Alison’s double bed. But the big question is: Is their relationship real? I have my doubts.

Far more interesting is the Adele-Sophie-Lee saga. Again the question is: Is lechy Lee for real? This week he started to develop into a bit of a Nasty Nick character- telling one gorl one thing and the other another.

He’s got those two dangling on a piece of string and it’s not on. And I feel another twist coming up – I think Adele secretly fancies Sophie! You watch her.

But Jade is really starting to irritate me. It’s getting on my nerves the way they all call her Babba. She’s got all the signs of a No1 troublemaker.

One things for certain, she deserves PJ! He looks like a garden gnome and is about as entertaining!

And the tasks so far have been ridiculously easy with the housemates getting far too much money, food and drink.

PAUL agrees. He writes: They have it way too easy, sitting around eating ice cream all day.

They’ve either got hampers or champers. I even counted 28 bottles of cider the other day. The most we ever had was five.

As for Alison, I wasn’t too sorry to see her go, except I had a bet on Alex getting his marching orders! But let’s face it, Alex is making the show at the moment. I don’t like him at all – but I love to hate him.

There’s nothing more entertaining than watching him winding up all his housemates and annoying Kate in particular.

As odd as he is – very camp, immaculate, prim and proper – he’s the most genuine person there. I find all the others very fake and they’re rapidly turning reality TV into unreality TV. I think all the supposed romances are sham too.

This lot know the drill, how to get attention and curry favour with the voting public.

When Alison was evicted I spotted a banner in the crowds which said: ‘PLEASE BRING BACK BRIAN!’ I couldn’t have put it better myself.

There’s not one funny individual like Brian in the house. The only reason the show’s been entertaining at all is because of all the arguments. It’s one mass brawl in there – and that’s all down to Alex.

Yes, I agree with Janette but I don't think they will change the format now. It's a case of like it or lump it, I'm afraid.

I, for one, am lumping it!!!!

I thought Helen and Pauls comments were excellent and I agreed with almost every one of them.

I wonder if anyone from C4 or Endemol read the NOTW or any of the forums and take note of our comments. I hope they do.

Were a bit shocked, I'm going to watch and try and forget last year, it's obvious by now that this one is different, but we like to compare.

Unfortunately, those swines at NOTW don't publish an online version!

Here goes:

HELEN SAYS:
Well, what a week it's been in the house. I've hardly been able to draw breath.

For me, the high point was the bars coming down. I must be one of the few people to like the extra tension and drama.

My mother rang me and said: "Can you imagine what it would have been like if you and Paul had been split up?"

But Jade and PJ must now be wishing they'd eneded up on opposite sides of the bars! They got far too intimate with each other and I really don't think it's done them any favours.

I should say that while Paul and I got together in the house it was all very proper between us. We didn't even kiss until the night he was evicted. So, when Jade started flashing her boobs at PJ, I just couldn't bear it. I was shouting: "Jade, what are you doing?"

That said, I think she will come better out of the drunken encounter than PJ. I know it takes two to tango but the way PJ knocked Jade back in the morning was awful. I felt really sorry for her.

He has to go. I swear when he's up for nomination I'll vote for him 200 times.

Fair play to brave Sandy. He went out in style. But I'd never have left without my clothes!

Lastly, Alex is blossoming and I now think he's brilliant. If he's up for eviction next week, I'm getting a T-shirt printed saying: KEEP ALEX IN.

PAUL SAYS:

The big moment for me was Sandy's departure.

Half of me thought: "Fair do's" but the other half was so digusted with him.

Then I began to realise that the geezer just doesn't want anything to do with Big Brother any more. And he's not the only one.

I'm watching a lot of it but I'm not massively enjoying it. I find the bars awful. They give me a headache. Every single shot, you see bars and it's really annoying me.

Still, I think things could get more interesting next week now that Lee has been voted out. I think the eviction will send shockwaves rebounding at kate who is only cuddling up to Spencer because she thinks it will help keep her in the house. But Lee going proved that being in a relationship doesn't get you further.

Poor Jade is very immature. She's grabbing at straws-grabbing at anything apparently!

I thought her encounter under the bedclothes with PJ was really degrading.

You just don't do such things when there are millions of viewers watching.

I think Jade is going to get it worse when she comes out. The girl usually does in these situations. Mel from the original Big Brother told me that she had a really difficult time when she came out.

And all she did was share two innocent kisses with two different blokes.

_________________________________

So there you go! Paul and Helen are not in complete agreement on everything, and I think Helen has a wee bit of selective memory on how good they were under the blankets!

Mind you I am sure they didn't go quite this far, they were in love, and whatever THEY did was (as dear Kenny Everett used to say)all done in the best POSSIBLE taste!

They don't produce an online version, in that case you're a star!!!!!

This difference of opinion would be good material for that BBC1 guy, who ever he is. Does those two great!!!!

Saw brief items on Tim, umm. unnasuming character if ever I saw one. He should be fine. I'll watch the highlights though :-)

Im glad to see Helen enjoying it - I agree with her about a lot of the stuff, particulary Alex, he is hilarious!
I didnt expect Paul to rate ths series cos he didnt watch the last one, did he? I mean BB1, he just applied for BB2 cos his mates said they thought he would be good on it.
But I do agree, in a way - even though I am starting to like the bars, I would rather them down.
Cheers ROB!

Have to disagree with Paul here. I think they are the only ones who seem to have genuine affection for each other, and they are the only reason I haven't refused to watch in disgust.

If Kate was only cuddling up to keep herin, she would have stuck with alex, her original choice, and the one she said wa most physically attractive to start with - she began to speak to Spencer more BEFORE Alex became a control freak, so it wasn't like she just moved from Alex as soon as he became unreasonable. She began to get to know Spencer and liked him more.

I'm not claiming it's going to be the biggest romance of the 21st century, but I think they actually do like each other a lot.

Tut tut Mr Clarke.

God, i can just imagine what Helen would have done had she and Paul been separated......(probably similar to what Spencer and Kate did actually). I bet they are so glad they went in last year and not this year!!

Kate and Spencer may find each other physically atractive but I think that is just about as far as it goes.

I noticed how little time they have spent together since Jades caper under the capes. But when Tim arrived Spencer was all over Kate like a rash "briefly". Now they seem quite indifferent to each other again.

I don't think either know how to play it for public consumption since the Lee Sophie relationship was vetoed by the public.

Don't be fooled Glitter_babe Kate and Spencer are about as romantic as a wet weekend on a snow bound mountain in the middle of a gallaxy somewhere in time and space...Aahggggg I am crazy I know. Big Brotheritis has taken a grip...

I don't think they are playing it for the public - if they were they'd have been much more touchy feely, they'd have snogged in full view of the cameras, and would be hanging around each other like flies, when in fact, they are often off doing their own thing.

Something Davina said in HEAT I agreed with....."We (audience) see Kate and Spencer being more intimate than the housemates do. He'd never admit to the guys that he likes Kate, but they do share some very soppy moments alone."

Spencer is very shy when it comes to his personal life - he rarely comments, and if he does he is visibly uncomfortable, and he gives little detail. Deep down he's kind of a shy person, but puts on a bit of an act for the lads.

When with Kate and the others, he flirts in a more childish, 'typical lad' way, but when alone, they are quite sweet, and they are both slightly nervous (in a sweet way). It's little things like them going to sleep stroking each others hair, etc that I think are lovely, but C4 NEVER show them - i have to watch on E4 if at all.

Like I said, I'm not claiming they are going to leave the house, run off to scotland, get married in a castle and live happily ever after with three ponies and a butler names Jeeves.

I just think they have sweet couple potential, and if you watch them alone, they do genuinely care. Its too natural to be contrived for the public.

Now I normally like everything Davina writes, but just have to challenge her comment in heat about PJ and Jade being reminiscent of Paul and Helen (in that they would never have got together outside)

First of all, Paul says he would have gone up to Helen in a club or bar, but that they would have been unlikely to have met.

Secondly, Paul never thought he was too good for Helen,

Quote:
H:'I'm just a bloody hairdresser from Wales and you're a car designer from Cologne in Germany'

P: So, whats your point? It don't make any bloody difference mate!'

H: It doesn't does it?

P: It doesn't matter at all!

As we all know he respected her 'massively' and only held back because she was in a relationship. He took care of her and protected her from herself in there, and since.

PJ did anything but protect her. Fair enough she's an adult, but a very drunk one, and it was absolutely revolting that he 'helped himself'. If he was that drunk, he wouldn't have managed it. The amnesia was feigned.

PJ evidently thinks he's too good for Jade. If they do get together outside the house it will be for the notoriety and it won't last.

So I consequently have to consider that Davina's judgement is potentially flawed over Kate and Spencer. Maybe they will get together. I don't know, but Paul is entitled to his opinion, and after all he's being paid to give it!

Surely not????
I do agree on the PJ jade point - i would never compare them to P&H, and PJ doesn't really like her that much (if at all ) anyway.

Paul is perfectly entitled to his opinion, but I reckon he's being too cynical.....

(I wish someone would pay me to give my opinions - I'd make a bomb!)

I always thought Paul said he wouldnt approach Helen in a bar because looks wise she was not her type, not that she wasnt attractive but he said he usually goes for brunettes and it was because of her personality he fell for her.
I remember him saying this and his siter and his mate on BBLB.

Yes, I know, but on Rich and Famous, when Helen said 'He wouldn't have come up to me in a bar you know!!'

Paul laughed and said 'Apparently!'
Then he told Matthew Wright that he'd had to tell a few white lies in there, because 'it wasn't appropriate' owning up how attractive he found her when she had a boyfriend.

I just had to watch that again to make sure. It was hard work, but someone had to do it.

Those two are so sweet, it's cheered me up no end!

OK Folks, here's the real column:

Helen says:

My favourites, Spencer and Alex, were up for eviction and I was so torn I couldn't even vote this week. Such a shame that either of them had to go when there are nonentities like Sophie and PJ still in the house.

But I do think the right man, Alex stayed in. He's just so entertaining and funny - and if Adele can work out which way she's swinging there could be a bit of romance there.

Spencer, on the other hand, was like a wet weekend when he left the house. When Davina interviewed him the conversation just wasn't flowing, and as for showing Spencer his highs and lows in the house, well there just weren't any.

Still, I do feel sorry for kate now.She lost her good mate Alison early on and now she's lost her 'love interest' Spencer too.

My low point of the week wasn't so much losing Spencer as gaining ugly Tim. How disappointing is he? He dyes his hair, wears ladies sunglasses and has a body like a tree trunk. Yuck! Not impressed.

I still think Big Brother is giving the housemates too much alcohol, but if it keeps fuelling rows like the one that kicked off between Jade and Adele, keep it coming!

Paul says:

I stood to pocket £200 if Spencer won the series, so I was gutted to see him go.

In the end he just played it too cool, and will now only be remembered for burping and farting.

But I couldn't help but feel for Alex when Davina announced that Spencer would be leaving. There was a deathly hush and it's obvious most of the housemates would have preferred to see the back of Alex.

The same thing happened to me when I was up for eviction against the ever-popular Bubble. There was no disguising my housemates' disappointment that Bubble was going and I was very hurt by their reaction.

Helen was the only person who came up to me and said: "I'm pleased you're staying." Adele seems to be Alex's only ally and was the only one to tell him she didn't want him to go.

Personally, I think the others are jealous of Alex because they know how popular he is on the outside. He's certainly my favourite to win.
