If he vomits into his mask once the gas has

The judge overruled that.

No way should he ever have been set free

The judge clearly had a lust for blood.

I'm against the death sentence in general but if it must exist - my question is WHY is it so elaborate? Why do there need to be all these new and "inventive" ways to do it? It feels like perversion really. I mean I know it would be messy but honestly - high powered shotgun to the head = no head. Cost is one shotgun shell and a bucket of soap and water. Certainty of death is 100%, and time taken is INSTANT. Bang, no head. Done.

Why does it need to involve some mad scientist set-up? It's serial killer nonsense.

America came up with the electric chair which was pretty inventive. Put a wet sponge on the persons head and then fry them to a crisp

Apparently many states have re-introduced firing squad as an option because that is cheap and guaranteed. So if they cant get the drugs, they always have a fall back

I've heard all these do-gooders coming out saying it was a 'disgrace this man suffered.'

Well tell that to the family of the murdered woman.

I only wished he had suffered for much longer.

If only all killers could be got away like that.

I don't know why they keep coming up with complicated ways of offing these people. Vets can put down a dog quite peacefully, send these people off the same way. Although I think a rope and a long drop would be the cheapest and most effective. Bullets are expensive.

The family of the murdered woman like her hubby who was the one who paid this guy to kill her in the first place?

Like I said early in the thread... I think he deserved a harsher punishment than the hitman. To reiterate: you don't blame the gun, you blame the person who pulled the trigger.

Of course, being a killer-for-hire should also be illegal, but the real pre-meditated murderer is the person hiring the killer IMO.

i think they need the killing to be a ritual rather than simply an ending of a life. They invite people in to witness it that all have to behave in a certain way, they invite the person to speak, they wire them up etc etc. Its all ritual. A swift bullet to the back of the head just wouldn't do it

Apparently he requested this method...

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nitroge...orney-general/

Quote:
The execution of convicted murderer Kenneth Eugene Smith using nitrogen hypoxia was "textbook," Alabama's attorney general Steve Marshall said in a news conference on Friday.

*
*

Smith had requested the method of death after surviving a botched lethal injection in 2022, but his attorneys argued that he was being used as a "test subject," and human rights activists criticized the untried new method.
I'm actually OK with them requesting their own method, and I think this should be allowed (respected even), where possible.

…all for money as well…the victim’s husband paid each of the three $1000 dollars so that he could collect an insurance policy sum …imagine telling your sons that you arranged to have their mother killed…and then killing yourself …such a sad story and a such a low value placed in every life involved…
