I borrowed it from my aunty, thinking it wont affect me, but it really did upset me. I will probley use me libary card [if i can find it] and look for it at the libary

I did indeed, and i feel the dad could have done more to help him. I thought im really happy to have such a great mum.

His dad was useless, and almost as bad as the mum, in a way. The book made me really grateful for what I have.

Another true story that made me count my blessings was 'Chinese Cinderella'. It wasn't any where near as extreme as David Pelzer's story, but it's about a chinese girl whose family ostracized her because her mother died giving birth to her. They told her this meant she was 'bad luck', and she was treated like dirt by her siblings, her father and especially her step-mother.

I haven't heard of that, but I'll keep an eye open for it. There's a book called Once In A House On Fire by Andrea Ashworth, which again, isn't as extreme as Dave Pelzer's book, but it's very sad.
