Well done Conor! I think your ideas work really well with the screens on the exterior and the crowds and Davina having less airing time. The house plan looks great! It looks really new and fresh, definatley better than Elstree. Big Brother bosses should listen to your ideas, they beat their ideas any day! The set looks great too, they look so detailed and professional. You've obviously spent a lot of time thinking about this project, can't wait to see it to develop.

The whole studio and crowd set up needs to change and your idea really works. Also with the indoor studio eviction days could move, which I think needs to happen.

That's probably why they got you excited then! Credit where credit is due though and BB Aus was great at building the hype - just crap at living up to it.

I like that you've done something different for the studio Conor, and that works well for the launch - and if you make the final an event and use the outdoor space again to create a different atmosphere from evictions it'll work well too.

As for evictions - although I personally think that ditching the outdoor crowd and having an audience inside is for the best, however big or small that audience may be, I think for it to really work you still have to have a bit of distance between the house and the studio. Something like Celeb BB2 was perfect IMO - close enough to walk to and from on screen, but enough space in between to allow the evictee to take a breather before heading into the studio to face their public.

With the set up you have planned though I'd definately say no outdoor crowd as it's a bit stupid to have them go into the studio, and then to leave it just for the sake of it. The only way that could work is if you do it at the end of the interview and have them leave the studio and get into a car or something to "leave" the show, but it would be a rather pointless exercise.

P.S. The set itself looks great though.

Again guys, thanks for all the feedback

Brekkie, I can see where your getting at. Thinking about it, it would be better to distance the studio a bit from house. I'll look into that and see how I can edit my studio plans And your crowd queries: your right at pointing out that it would be pointless to have a crowd during evictions just for a housemate to go out for no real reason, although I wasn't planing in housemates having contact with the crowd once they were evicted, instead going straight from the studio to a hotel or something after they've been finished with, meaning there is no contact with any of the crowd - Although there could still be problems with this solution. The crowd is basically there to help the atmosphere and make it a it more active, rather than just a studio audience clapping and laughing, although for the final an outside crowd would definatly need to be used.

There are other ways of creating atmosphere though - music being the obvious one, but also don't underestimate the "atmosphere" a viewer can feel from a simple reunion with the Friends and Family.

Remember in the old days of Bow a lot happened before they even met the crowd - and that time was filled with eviction music and a reunion with friends and family, before facing the public.

However, all that is on the presumption Davina will go and meet the evictee. If the studio is right next to the house maybe the evictee can make their own way there and enter the studio the same way they currently leave the house - alone! There is the risk then though that all you end up doing is basically having the same set up, just with a roof over it instead - and I'm not sure that works. I also think from the point of view of "contact with the outside world" the audience should be as far away from the house as possible.

Conor you are the king of Big Brother idea's!
They should employ you.

I'm very glad you have chosen to move from the Elstree lot, the current has so many limitations, right down to noise levels. Its also looking worse for ware now.

I really can't wait to see more from the house, amazingggg work!

As much as I like the idea of a new location and bigger house, it just isn't going to happen. Why move houses and incur so much costs, especially in the face of a credit crunch when they still have the rights to use the current one for one more year? I could understand back in the show's hey day when it was worth splashing cash on, but not now. If it does move rather than extend the lease again, I can only see it going somewhere of equal or smaller size. There's plenty of room at the current location for a big house, they just don't use it. If they made it open plan and thus required less walls and instead of silly gimmicks like jais and vestibules they could increase room sizes by at least 1/3rd.

On the subject of eye flashes, they just replace the 4 logo stings, they aren't actually adverts and so need not be scrapped. They do need to be used less as a replacement for proper trailers though.

Plus making them abstract like they have been doing recently doesn't exactly promote the show so I agree there that they should change them.

They can knock it down and rebuild it, they did the backend last year so maybe they could the front end this year.

There again, a lick of paint and some wall padding to cover the patches and cracks from where the door's been moved, etcetera would do the trick.

All good except for the logo. Absolutely detest the idea of no eye, it just seems fundemental to the show. The grpahics in general are very BBAU esque, not that thats a bad thing.

Updated crowd/studio areas:

First the crowd. Launch night/Final & special events will all have a live crowd, normal evictions however wont, instead this will be replaced with a studio audience. The doors no longer lead directly into the studio, but instead there is a short 50m walk to the doors from the main house. During evictions, only the press, family and friends and Davina will be allowed to be here. (During evictions, the main entrance to the studio wont be used) The studio itself has not changed, apart from a slightly lighter colour scheme to freshen it up and obviously the tinted blue doors.

- I'll post a plan for the final layout soon, so I'll not explain it here.

Studio update:

- Again, thanks for the comments, and I'll try to reply to some of the longer ones later

Conor, it looks more amazing now it is completed. I can really see now just how good your enterance idea is. I love the shape of the door! The new logo is really starting to grow on me now. Everytime I see it I like it even more.

Very nice Conor - that works so much better. I think just adding the space between the studio and house really highlights the idea of the house being "cut off from the outside world", even though it's just a case of going through a couple of doors.

The glass doors are a nice idea too - really effective, not just for evictions but for other live shows where Davina can be safely tucked away in the studio but you can still have the house in the background.

I've been waiting a year or so for someone here to really put their own stamp on the show and let their imaginations, rather than the norm, be the driving force behind the designs - and you Conor are really achieving that.
