It has become an institution amongst the Big Brother internet-community, and this could be the last time we get to guess it.
And now, with the launch of the final series of Big Brother just hours away, Inside Big Brother looks back over Davina’s opening lines of previous series.
For Big Brother 3, the launch show changed to the now familiar live-format, and with the change came Davina’s now legendary opening-line tease.
But just how did the Big Mother welcome us to the 2002 series? With these immortal words: “Hello, I’ve been expecting you.”
For the next series, Davina kept it short and sweet. “It’s back!” was all it took to launch Big Brother 4.
As viewers settled in to watch the live launch of Big Brother 5, Davina teased us all with her opening line of “One House. Twelve Housemates. And a whole world of pain!”
Continuing on from the previous year, the queen of reality TV declared Big Brother 6 open with the words “You didn’t think Big Brother would ever be nice, did you?”
Big Brother 7 has unanimously been voted as having the best opening line for a series here at IBB towers. “Viewers, you have fifteen seconds to say goodbye to the summer. Big Brother’s coming to get you!”
Big Brother 8 – after the controversial racism row of the previous Celebrity series – broke away from tradition and aired an on-screen apology instead of Davina’s usual opening tease.
However, things returned to normal for Big Brother 9, and Davina exclaimed “Do you know what? Britain’s not got talent!”
And last year, Davina began the series explaining the huge twist on opening night. BB10 “Tonight, 16 people will move into that House. They have no idea that none of them are Housemates.”
Which leads us to the question: what will Davina say to open the final series of Big Brother? Will it be short and snappy, or will it grab your attention with a huge twist?
