Yeah, I know Katie was just nervous and couldn't do it so sorta failed. But with Cher it was a bit different tbh. It was out of her control that her throat was bad and she couldn't sing. At least she tried her best.

Yeah she's been great in auditions, but the other two in her category will attract votes because of the hype surrounding them. And remember what happened to Lucie last year? I'd personally rather see her do something a bit different though, I don't want to see her typecast. Something more modern and upbeat rather than 'retro modern' like Duffy??? Well once again she was excellent. The last 2 weeks she has started to move from the middle of the pack, in terms of comments/publicity, to become one of the front runners. Her voice is second to none. Just one thing though.......how about Becky going on and singing AT THE END OF THE SHOW FOR A CHANGE!! 3 times out of 4 she has been first girl on......... Katie isn't a season ticket holder for that last position, Mr. Cowell!!

Yeah....her vote held up well!!

But lets be honest. Unlike other fans on here we can tell a good performance from an average one. And for Rebecca, that performance WAS average.....she even said on ITV2 herself that she 'murdered' Yesterday , lol.
So the big test is to come.....2 songs this week, one uptempo.....she needs to GET BACK TO WHERE SHE ONCE BELONGED.....at the top of the leader board (in Strictly parlance), and start believing in herself more. We know she has the voice,but can it adapt to different music genres? A few doubts on Saturday....I hope she comes out and blows them away this week!!

The arrangement of Yesterday was poor; not really Rebecca's fault, unless she rewrote the music.

Still she survived, which shows she can even when it goes a little wrong. She remains likeable and humble whilst her main competitor Matt seems to be going out of his way to show he is neither.

I agree that this latest performance ("Yesterday") was not her best. Wish she had chosen a better song, she had a huge choice of Beatles songs. "Ticket To Ride" would have suited her more.

Anyway, this week will be tough. She needs to get back to her very best. If its a double eviction. Look at the others.....Wagner's vote is holding up too, Cher will get the bounce-back effect, similar to the way Katie did, especially if she goes on last!!! Mary has large blocks of votes too......and it is hard to imagine either Matt or One Dimension having any trouble getting through.

Well she certainly has made an impact! Like the thoroughbred singer she is, she stepped up a gear last Saturday, and while the others huffed puffed and wheezed their way to the final, Becky stormed through.
BUT this week is tough. The teeny vote may decide it. Hopefully some of them will decide to back substance. But even if she doesn't win, it won't be a disaster. Far from it. In the meantime, lets hope the final showcases what she can REALLY do. I think there is loads more to come from this girl.......... :spin:

Everything you say is sooo true - he would be a fool not to sign her/promote her - but he wants wand erection to win - however as you say she needs the right producer for her voice and she will be huge........that's why I like her - her voice -she stands out! Best thing for her finishing second......shes' not Cowell's puppet, doesn't have the pressure of selling number ones like Cardle will have to, and has time to develop as an artist and to learn stagecraft (like Leona had to ). I thought she was the better performer in the finals, but no matter......she is on the up up up!! :spin:

PS.....She could have sung Sweet Dreams earlier in the series.....would have stopped some of the moaners in their tracks.

She's actually one of the greatest singers of all time not just the greatest x factor contestant. In my opinion she's a female Freddie Mercury or Meat Loaf that's how good she is. And her album will be the greatest debut album since Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses or Bat out of Hell by Meat Loaf
