English basically - I've applied for 2 English (Q300) courses (at Newport and Bath Spa) and 3 that have something else (English and Journalism at UWE; 2xEnglish Literature and Journalism at Winchester / Hertfordshire)

Almost everybody I knew including myself had a problem with them before starting uni and are continually having problems.

University of Birmingham, I've had their offer now but they've upped their grades since I applied and they dont accept general studies anymore so I cant see myself going there :(

Shame:(, although money wise it could save you money staying near to where you live now;).

Did you have a look at BCU or Aston courses or don't they offer the course you want?

Yeah that's true my others are all pretty far away :laugh:

Nah I didnt look at them, I already had 4 choices and didnt know what to put for the fifth so just threw Birmingham in really

If you still are considering Birmingham I suggest BCU because thats right near the city centre:), the other unis in Brum are a bit far away from each other which is expected LOL.

I've had 3 offers so far :) from Aberystwyth, Gloucester and Wolverhampton to do Sports Therapy. Still waiting on Stafforshire and I had a rejection from UWE Bristol because they thought my personal statement wasn't relevant to the course when it clearly was. :S

Obviously it was relevant otherwise others wouldn't of offered you a place :conf:

Not long to consider is there?:(, have you thought about BCU or staying locally in the Midlands as it would be easy access and although travelling somewhere else would have it's advantages and disadvantages sometimes it doesn't turn out to be the right decision or neither is staying locally depending on what happens LOL.

I did think about it but I decided if I do go I want to move away. What's putting me off more than anything is the fact that so many graduates are finding it difficult to get jobs. But then I realise I still don't really know what I want to do as a career and university will give me an extra 3/4 years to think about that as well as get extra qualification/work experience which can only benefit. Sometimes I just feel like I wanna earn now though. I'll probably end up going though tbh.

Well I was really having a hard think what to do last couple of months and I got told recently that they have extended the deadline for applications to go through till June:D.

I think I'll be picking Bath Spa as my firm, UWE as insurance.

haha, I'm so glad I don't have to do all this exciting/nervous waiting again. What others did you apply to Shaun? UWE is better night life but a **** university generally (I think anyway - not sure about your course) but Bath Spa has less of a night life and more credibility.

I've firmed UWE, and put NTU as insurance.
UWE accomodation went live today and I wasn't expecting it to until April, but hopefully i'll get student village.

other choices were Hertfordshire, Newport and (still haven't heard back from) Winchester.

UWE - 340 points, which I'm not certain I'd get
Bath Spa - 300-320

plus bath spa is cheaper to live in, I know someone there, and it's a better place to study English apparently.

But yeah Bristol is an expensive city to live in and UWE's accomodation isn't exactly cheap.

Anyone in Northern Ireland apply? I have 5 conditionals since January and I am still no closer to picking my firm and insurance =/ and i was looking at the updated statistics for this month:O there are so much more people applying for uni this year and 5000 more people applied to law which I think i want to do.

Conditionals from Liverpool, John Moores and UCLan. Unconditional from Liverpool Hope, Man Met gave me a conditional but emailed me saying I was 'an exceptional candidate' and they will consider making the offer unconditional.

5 weeks on and I've had offers from Chester and Liverpool (Liverpool came through tonight!)

Lincoln gave me an offer, Chester changed from conditional to unconditional and Harper Adams offered me a place instead of an interview. Just waiting on bloody Bristol!
