EDIT, Monday 30th May - ITV has now confirmed the judges in a Tweet:

Official: @TheXFactor (UK) judges will be: Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland & Louis Walsh

------------------------------------

Breaking news, according to Heatworld - they tweeted:

BREAKING NEWS: Apparently Tulisa from N-Dubz has signed her X Factor deal! It's official, she's a judge!

That's any remaining interest I have in The X Factor killed - no way will I watch a show that has anyone from N-bloody-Dubz judging talent

At least N-Dubz made it on their own and didn't use a fast track to fame.

Cheryl's fast-track to fame was relevant to the show. Is that not exactly why anyone auditions for XF? She was able to share here experience with contestants. I'm no fan of Cheryl, but making it on your own doesn't make you any less **** than being catapulted into the public eye.

I really do think this will be the start of the X-Factor's decline in interest. It could take years to kill the bastard off and Cowell will probably have another almost identical show in the wings but bring it on, baby. It's been an absoloute cancer to the charts and to the state of culture in general. Watch it on a casual basis by all means but there is a generation of kids who see it as what music and the music industry is all about in a nutshell.

The same culture that is leaving albums dead in the water because we don't have the time to listen to them anymore and the same culture that is seeing big labels take less and less risks. Just go on the telly on a Saturday night, get the fame you so clearly deserve, and have a few lovely, unremarkable pop ditties that do absoloutely nothing to foward or even be the best at the genre you are attempting.

True but Tulisa has actually had to work even harder than Cheryl to get where she is now. Cheryl got the part in a manufactured band and is the most successful but not the best singer and divides opinion too.

Louis Walsh said: "I'm the last original judge standing. I'm determined to find an act that can win and show the others how it's done!"

Gary Barlow said: "My one goal is to find a global super star. If I don't find one I won't have done my job."

Tulisa Contostavlos said: "I'm not going to be afraid to speak my mind and mix things up a little. Let the fireworks begin!"

People take the piss out of Louis but he actually does a lot of promoting the acts he manages and actually does know some of what he's talking about even if he does talk nonsense sometimes.

He knows how to manage novelty acts; novelty acts don't win the X Factor, therefore his position as a judge is to bring mediocrity to mid-table finishes, inevitably putting out genuinely talented people along the way. The joke got old several years ago, why is he still allowed to do that? He's the worst judge consistently every series, except most recently Simon Cowell's become a shadow of his former self to the extent that Louis actually provided more for the show than Simon did as a judge. Simon clearly took the groups category because they're notoriously difficult to handle well so he could focus on trying to crack America with his X Factor brand but put some time into the ready made boy band because he obviously couldn't just ignore the UK show. It's all such bull. The show will now go down the pan, which can only be a good thing, but I fear for what is going to replace it on TV, whatever it is it'll probably be awful.

Marsh.

Utter, utter, utter bollocks. My interest in this show has gone from 100% down to about 5%.

Britain's Got Talent can survive without Simon, a show like X Factor can't. It's that simple really. I'd be satisfied if Simon would return for the live shows similar to what he's doing on BGT, but no Simon whatsoever? A total travesty, and this really will be the beginning of the decline for X Factor, and it's a shame really.

If anyone's interested; after going to the auditions yesterday, these are my opinions on the judges:

Louis: Legendary as always. I really do think it would've been a shame if he had gone although he does say yes to nearly everyone. Also, similarly to his little tiff's with Simon, there was a lot of banter between him and Gary.

Gary: Suprisingly, he seems to have taken up Simon's role of the "mean one" and is quite funny and harsh on a lot of the acts. I didn't expect to think much of him but thought he was really good.

Kelly: Kelly was brilliant. A lot like Danni in the fact that she said exactly what the audience was thinking and was completely right, even if it might not make her too popular with some of the crowd. But also lovely and really chilled and friendly with the acts.

Tulisa: Again, I really didn't want her on there. She was better than I thought but by far the worst. There was a lot of "just keep it real", "Don't try and be something you're not" and "this is your moment right here." Just a bit chavy for my liking.

I don't think it'll be the same for me without the other judges (I could've lived without Cheryl). But it was quite sad, for the first time not to hear Simon, Cheryl and Danni's iconic voices.

Interesting.

I think Mel B should have been a judge though. She was rumoured to be one. But she is popping out a 3rd baby soon so that could be a reason why she isn't.

I hope Kelly and Tulisia can establish themselves quickly. I mean yeah Kelly has been an okay solo artist. Not just Destiny's Child. But only a "niche" market of people know about N Dubz!

To be fair.. has N Dubz even had a number 1? :S I do think Tulisa will be good though. Just looking at the panel seems a bit random. Gary and Louis look like they should be there. But Kelly and Tulisa look random. Also Tulisa looks older than 22 :S I think it's her outfit and the way she's got her hair.

Okay, this just looks too weird...I don't like it :(

It's just Simon's absence that I can't take. No Simon, no show. Don't get me wrong, Gary is the only one worthy of replacing him, and the only decent addition to the panel, but this show is really going to struggle to work without Simon himself. Really, he should have not returned to BGT at all, as he's not needed, but instead returned to the XF Live Shows, as he'll be needed more here. I just...can't see this working, or being worth watching.

I do think that he might feel he's too old to judge new pop talent and the only reason he's on the US version is to promote it until it's up and running and then move away from that - just a guess.

He is 51/52 so is losing touch with modern music. Nine years on both American Idol and Pop Idol/X Factor might be enough.

If XFUS works, give it a couple of years and see if Simon leaves that too. He does look happier and more relaxed on BGT. He might well decide to do the American and British 'Got Talent' is my guess.

By the way, I know Louis is even older, but he's there for the comedy value.
