Capcom has spent the last couple of years dishing out Resident Evil remakes like they're going out of fashion. We've seen complete reboots of both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, and it's been heavily rumoured that 2022 will see the release of a Resident Evil 4 remake. Although I have to say that the idea of that one seems to be particularly divisive.

With so many Resi remakes tumbling out of Capcom HQ, I do wish the company would think of Dino Crisis. Fans have been clamouring for a remake or revival for the dinosaur-based survival horror series for the longest time... but it doesn't seem as if Capcom has any interest.

A new rumour doing the rounds is now suggesting that Creative Assembly, the team who gave the word the excellent and terrifying Alien: Isolation, is currently working on a horror game set in the Jurassic Park universe. In other words, we could be getting a brand-new dinosaur-themed survival horror from a studio that has proved it knows how to make a properly scary horror game. Who needs Dino Crisis?

Unfortunately we do have to take this with an extra large pinch of salt for now, as this information was originally posted to 4Chan. It's worth noting that anonymous 4Chan leaks have been right in the past. It's just that they're most wrong.

According to the rumour, the game is called Lost World: Jurassic Park. It's a first-person horror in which the lead character is a gun-for-hire attempting to survive on an island where - you guessed it - the dinosaurs have broken free. It'll allegedly be exclusive to new-gen consoles, and feature a mature tone with "lots of gore".

It's that last claim that warrants a raise of my eyebrow, to be honest. I'm all for a gore-soaked Jurassic Park game, I'm just not sure the IP owner (Universal Pictures Amblin Entertainment) would be that into the idea of an R-rated game based on what is predominately a family-friendly property. Like I say, take it with a big old pinch of salt.

I'd be up for it.

Even if I've never watched the Films.

yes, and especially by creators of alien: isolation

that game is really scary, like every moment you need to keep paying attention at your environment where the alien can be above or next to you or behind you

definitely wished for a Jurassic Park game like this, ever since telltale's JP game which was nice but for JP you also want that extra bit of horror, since it is titled lost world, and movie lost world for me was already a lot darker than the first one so teaming up with those guys is a good step in the right direction
