RE4 was an epic fail (IMO, it was empty, and lacked soul) although 5 might be enough to repair the tired seires, I will buy it, to see if its good :3

RE5 should be coming to PS3 and the 360 in March

I thought it was fantastic, as a stand alone game. One of the best games of the last generation, and the reviews reflect it. Only fanboys dislike it. Cannot wait for Resident Evil 5, everything looks awesome.

Ever since it’s announcement at E3 I have been very much looking forward to Resident Evil 5. I have been a huge fan of the series for years, but I’m still skeptical about the changes they have made since Resident Evil 4, using the more action orientented approach over actual horror. Resident Evil 5 is no different, in that it looks a whole lot like Resident Evil 4.

As you will have noticed from gameplay videos and screenshots, Resident Evil 5 features Resident Evil 4/Cold Fear’s over the shoulder camera style, but it doesn’t stop there. Resident Evil 5 has the exact same control scheme as RE4, which would be fine usually since it’s a sequel and everything and it’s not that big of a deal if the controls are the same usually, but they feel so out dated now. After playing Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and games with that kind of shooting/fighting style it’s really hard to adjust to things like not being able to move the camera around in 3D and not being able to move while shooting. In addition to this the controls overall are quite stiff. Having said that though, it is rather fun to play. While the aiming seems strange at first you eventually get used to it. Uppercutting a huge monster with a giant axe is funny, but pretty impractical. It will make you laugh but on reflection it seems a bit silly, and almost gimicky.

Another thing to note is that, the demo at least, is not scary. During the introduction you are welcomed by a huge hoard of 50 - 100 zombies charging at you - and at this point I was all “Oh, ****.” but instead the zombies slowly walked into the cabin about 5 or 6 at a time, slowly climbing the fence for an easy shot. This was most dissapointing as I was expecting to be completely and utterly raped by this massive group of the un-dead, but instead they arrived in neat little queues almost willing to give my gun a licking. I do really hope that they are more aggressive and more abundant on the harder difficulty levels. The only enemy that offered a challenge were the big, recycled chainsaw/axe men from Resident Evil 4 which killed Sheba like 3 times in a row.

The graphics overall are pretty nice. Zombies, characters and environments are impressively detailed with areas like a corrgated iron roof looking almost real at times and far surpass the graphical technology of it’s main competetor Silent Hill: Homecoming. The hair graphics in SHH were appauling and sub-standard, but in Resident Evil 5 they are some of the best that gaming has to offer at the moment. I experienced a few odd graphical bugs such as a zombie doing a tripple cork-screw flip after being shot with a 9mm handgun, but the game does warn that such bugs may be included in the demo release, and since it’s not out until March this is to be expected. Other bugs included no clipping of weapons and the “stomp” action no clipping through the zombies backs. Oh yeah, and the explosions look absolutely, utterly, unquestionably amazing.

Overall the demo was pretty fun, and with the addition of online co-op you could be playing the game for a long time. This also introduces an easy path for idiots over XBL or PSN to piss you off by doing stupid, retarded things while you’re getting chomped on by a zombie. However, the recent announcement of the additon of local co-op play offers an escape from that if you don’t mind split-screen. You’ll enjoy this if you’re playing it to blow zombies brains out (Massive amounts of fun) with a large shotgun and drool over some pretty graphics. If you’re looking for a scare then what I played in the demo is not where you want to go. Best stick to Resident Evil 2.

Not sure.....I really hope this isnt another case of Las Plagas, and that its the T-Virus or summat

rayheartbliss
11-12-2008, 08:57 PM
probably not!
i thought las plagas was sum sort of cult! but they used the t-virus to control the villagers....

i think on this one it, they mutated the t-virus!
so now the zombies are strong and still intelligent
which is if you think about it, is quite scary o.o

:bawling: Jill was the best! There's gotta be some sort of twist?

You can't kill the master of unlocking!

Scarlett.

Jill Valentine first appears as one of two playable protagonists in the original Resident Evil. Along with Chris Redfield, she is a member of STARS' Alpha team, deployed to the Arklay Mountains. Alpha team is attacked by several undead dogs, and retreats to the Arklay Research Facility. Jill initially works with Barry Burton, as they inspect the mansion and discover its undead residents.

Jill returns as the sole protagonist in Resident Evil 3. She fights alongside Carlos Oliveira, a UBCS soldier who is attempting to escape Raccoon City. Jill encounters Nemesis, a super soldier created by the Umbrella Corporation. She survives the incident, and appears in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles where she works with Chris Redfield to expose and destroy the Umbrella Corporation. Jill was portrayed by an actress credited as "Inezh" in the live-action cutscenes of the original Resident Evil and voiced by Catherine Disher in Resident Evil 3, and Heidi Anderson in the remake of Resident Evil. She also appears as a character in the game Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and in the live action film Resident Evil: Apocalypse, portrayed by Sienna Guillory.

Jill's appearance, starting from the remake of Resident Evil, was made in the likeness of Canadian model Julia Voth. She was named as the "Sexiest Game Character" by News.com.au in their top ten, which noted her as popular with both male and female gamers for different reasons. UGO.com listed her thirty-ninth on their "Top 50 Videogame Hotties" article, noting her as a core character of the Resident Evil series.

According to an advert for Resident Evil 5, Jill Valentine died in 2006.

A Resident Evil 5 (PS3, Xbox 360) mag ad in Famitsu showed Chris Redfield over the grave of former colleague Jill Valentine, naturally making us assume that capcom deep-sixed her.

Conspiracy theorists believed otherwise though, and this new info may prove that they're right. Fans managed to hack the Japanese demo of Resident Evil 5, revealing a clue to Jill's role in the game.

The hackers managed to dig up the list of weapons, items, and enemies. That last list shows two entries named "Jill," right before three entries of Wesker. Assuming there isn't another Jill in the game, then it's looking like we'll be facing off with Jill twice in the game as a boss.

Interestingly enough, Jill's name also popped up as a playable character in one of the game's modes, along with Wesker. So is Jill dead, or up and about, juiced up like Wesker? We can only speculate for now, so we're still tagging this as rumor.

'I played the demo when it first came out on xbox live, I wasn't keen I thought the controls were clumsy and I didn't like Sheva as she kept running up to the chainsaw man and getting herself killed. After watching Resident Evil: Degeneration yesterday I decided to give it another go today and my opinion's changed on it. I actually really like it now. Once you get used to the controls the game becomes a lot more likable. The online is quite a cool feature too, although i could imagine it being quite dificult if you're playing with a greedy person as you have to share all the items. I'm looking foward to this game, I'm going to get it next month though as i'm getting Street Fighter 4 this month.'

I'm quite looking foward to it.

Resi 4 had better controls at the moment I thought. I do like the partner elements though since ammo is scarcer due to the fact you have to share it, it echoes the older games more.

Plus Sheva< Ashley (useless cow).
