The Sun newspaper reported that the bonuses - to be paid on top of this month's salary to workers including cleaners - would amount to tens of thousands of pounds and would come from the King's private income.

Staff earning less than £30,000 will receive a single payment of £600, with staff earning more getting less.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

The BBC understands no taxpayers' money is being used and the bonus is being paid from the King's Privy Purse.

This is the money from a private estate known as the Duchy of Lancaster, which covers 18,000 hectares of land. It includes land in areas including Lancashire and Yorkshire, as well as property in central London. The Duchy of Lancaster usually makes a profit of about £20m a year.

What a shame that his best friend, Jimmy Saville isn't here to see it.

A man charged with breach of the peace after the Duke of York was heckled during the Queen's funeral procession will not face court.

Footage showed a man shouting at Prince Andrew as he followed the coffin up Edinburgh's Royal Mile in September.

The 22-year-old was pulled out of the crowd by two bystanders and was later arrested and charged.

The case has now been dealt with "by way of an offer of an alternative to prosecution".

The Crown Office, Scotland's prosecution service, said it was not able to advise what this alternative was but it can include fines or community work orders.

A Crown Office spokesman said: "The procurator fiscal received a report concerning a 22-year-old male in connection with an alleged incident on 12 September.

"After full and careful consideration of all facts and circumstances, the case was dealt with by way of an offer of an alternative to prosecution."

Money donated in memory of Queen Elizabeth is being given by King Charles to a charity helping people unable to pay their fuel bills.

Buckingham Palace has not revealed the amount, but the Fuel Bank Foundation is being given funds donated when the late Queen died in September.

The charity provides vouchers for pre-payment meters for gas and electricity.

Matthew Cole, head of the charity, said it would provide respite from the "energy and cost of living crisis".

In the wake of the late Queen's death, there were financial contributions as well as many letters of condolence sent to the Royal Family.

That money, according to royal sources, is now being handed over to help people who are unable to pay for heat, light and power in their homes.

She apologised…she meant no harm and she served the Queen for 60 years. She deserves to be there.

Yes and funny that film of Diana asking somone exactly same question as Lady Hussey brought no attention at the time. To me it was all Marlene with a massive wooden spoon.
