Why should I pay for child killers, serial killers, terrorists who want me dead etc to be made to live cushy lives in prison OR be given new identities and brand spanking new lives as "punishment"?

Why are capital punishment and "cushy lives" the only two options? Why opt immediately for the death penalty over prison reform and harsher sentences for those who deserve them?

Death penalty could be reserved for the most evil of society.

There still is an argument for the death penalty when people like Hindley and Brady, The Yorkshire Ripper, Ipswich Strangler, Dale Cregan, Crossbow Killer and Levi Bellfield are concerned.

I have lived when hanging was still happening to murderers and although it was retribution for their heinous crimes, I found it very frightening when it was said to be taking place.

On these grounds I am very 50/50 and would be happy to leave it to the politicians who's job it has to be to make the decision being in full knowledge of the facts. Best it is not decided by people on a forum, who wouldn't.

In America, they do plea deals that those who give relevant information that aids the enquiry can escape the death penalty. They get life without parole and about 150 years. I like that.

I would like to see a full background check on everyone in the house so that I can decide which of them is an acceptable person. Obviously I'm not going to speak as I find, I need to have them P Checked first.

The tax payer is paying to sustain people that are a liability to society. Why should we pay for life sentences rather than riddding those people from the world forever?
