Paddy and the Twins (sexism)
 

The Twins are vilified for being strong confident and unapologetic about being confident women, and they get booed.

But Paddy, by far the most sexist person ever to grace the BB house, is cheered and won the whole damn thing.

What can we learn? That confident women are hated, and confident men are celebrated?

Seriously, when you actually go back and listen to the things Paddy said about women and their "role" in the world, this man WON BB. BUt the Twins who are actually empowered women, probably the most confident and strong women to ever be in the house, are boo'ed.

I can't make sense of it.

Spot on, but the Twins do have ALOT of support from the public, so dont be surprised if they do win....

I think its more to do with the caliber of the eviction audience, either that or they are told by the producers to purposely mislead the house by cheering a certain way.

Fat Vanessa Feltz wishes she was as pretty as the twins.

I love how they dont care about what people think of them, like last night when they got booed they just shrugged it off :)

Why get so spiteful.... Vanessa always speaks her mind and she makes good valid points that others are too scared to make...so why get bitchy and personal.

The twins would shrug it off cos they are so convinced they are the best thing since sliced bread...their arrogance is unbelievable.

The only connection I can see between Paddy and the Twins is that they are both ignorant. Actually one twin is way worst then the other, so I shouldn't lump them together.

The twins. Over confident in their looks, over the past few years have lived a fairly privileged life. Unsure of their general intelligence, but seem very switched on. Do believe that they are Gods gift to men. Believe that women are jealous of them and all men want to be with them.

vanessa is honest and is an ex-house mate, and was in the first CBB, so she knows the house and the ways of Big Brother better than the twins, so dont be so rude.

That is so true, Paddy is very sexist and he gets cheered, the twins may come off as arrogant but are actually very confident and aren't scared to tell a dude to get lost and get booed (by women) that's rather sad than amusing, double standards everywhere.

I can understand that you dislike the twins and thats your opinion, which you are entitled too. I do object to your turn of phrase. I find it interesting that you comment on how only people with "low confidence" and "self esteem" could admire them. Yet use terms like "vile disgusting trolls" and that they could be turned into "alligator-shoes" and "handbags". Because that level of dislike is very comparable to blind following.

Personally I don't care. They don't effect my life in the slightest. They don't offend me and if I never saw them again it wouldn't bother me. In my mind they are entertainment on a TV show. In a weeks time I won't be able to remember which one is which. In a month I won't remember either of their names.

However, cocky women and cocky men are viewed differently and that point stands.

First up...I deleted the above post because I had miss-read your previous post.

Second you just ran a comparison between Hitler and the Twins in another thread. That sort of thinking isn't worth arguing with.

Thirdly, I still don't think you've read a single thing I read, so I hardly think this post matters. I haven't defended the twins once. I've simply commented on the perceptional disparity between cockiness in men and women. Yet your argument just seems to be an attack on the twins. Over and over again. So we really aren't having the same conversation, just a monologue or your distaste.
