Has a motive been established yet?

Imagine if the powers at be put this much effort into finding every murderer, of all "classes". Would be a lot less murders im sure.

He didn't sound to be terribly careful so someone will either recognize him or they will find prints...

BBC News Text :
[Metro's front page is dedicated to the fatal shooting
of a healthcare executive in New York.
Under the headline "Smiling Assassin" the paper
features two CCTV images, one of the
shooter and another released by police
of a man in similar-looking clothing
officers say is a person of interest.
Metro reports the "grinning gunman" left "a
cryptic three word message" by writing
deny, defend and depose on the
bullet casings used in the shooting,
which it says echoes the "title of a book
exposing tactics used by firms to beat claims".]

That was my first thought that it was someone disgruntled with the healthcare system possibly revenging a dead relative

I've never seen so many people celebrating someone's death before :umm2:

Every post I've seen online has been taking delight in it

When I hear 'assassin' or 'professional hit' I always imagine it's someone who knows what they're doing. You know, someone who would avoid having their face filmed.

Not celebrating, just showing the same level of empathy for him that him, his company and the numerous other insurance companies show to their customers who spend decades paying them to only be denied coverage when they eventually need it because the companies don’t want to pay out so they can give their executives eye watering salaries and bonuses.

They don’t care when they leave people to either go bankrupt to treat themselves and their families or die because they can’t afford treatment, so the pearl clutching people are doing over people not feeling sympathy for this one person is really quite nauseating

United is a parasitic insurance corp. You're an innocent unfortunate if your employee offers them. In the US (as you probably know) it's not up to us which company we use if it's through an employer, which is how a vast majority of people get their insurance is through their employer's group policy.. and to some extent, this extends to people on benefits who are allowed other coverages... I know people who are on disability that are stuck with United.

They offered cheap rates to the uninsured who were looking for private health insurance (not joining a group policy through employer), but yeah you get what you pay for... and people probably use them because they are cheaper... the employer has to pay a significant chunk of the group policy to keep costs reasonable, that's why.

There is financial AID though and it's often not sought when it would be beneficial. Depending on income, some hospitals will wipe off your entire bill (Methodist is one) if you meet certain criteria... that's including if you have insurance. The insurance picks up their end of the cost, but any balance leftover after copays/payouts, they will take care of it or they will take care of a portion... extra information, but just to let people know what kinds of help is available in the US...
