I doubt there are any degree-level mathematicians kicking around, degree-level Pure Maths is a pretty obscure qualification... but anyone with A-Level (or Higher for us Scots) maths should be able to explain why 0 is (must be) an integer. If they remember of course, I know it's been a while since most of us here now were in school
