Default Fact-check - Labour are being honest about on NHS plans

https://www.channel4.com/news/factch...y-on-nhs-plans

Well what a surprise. With everything going on politically at the moment this little gem seems to have got lost in the commotion. Every bit as relevant though. Interesting how the real facts always have a way of coming out eventually.

Exactly Kaz. I despair of this country sometimes.

Labour say that the government’s plans to increase NHS funding by 3.4 per cent are “insufficient” and “not enough to save our NHS”. They may well be right. But they neglect to mention that the government’s new NHS package is more generous than the one that Labour put forward at the 2017 General Election.
Very interesting. I am so disillusioned with Labour at the moment...however there is no party I can actually vote for, if there was an election tomorrow, which I have never ever had before.

To be fair, they probably think they're being honest. They just happen to be wrong. There's little leadership or direction within their front bench, so things get confused.

WIth Abbot in charge - no-one could expect any different. However incredibly likely that is I think the evidence suggests fudging the facts as a deliberate add-on to general incompetence.

No surprises that those supporting Corbyn and Labour are stangely quiet on this. Labour are either totally incompetent or more likely have clearly been less up-front and honest about how they will help the NHS than the left would have us believe.

..it’s not really a surprise though that Labour/Corby supporters would t bring this to the attention of, themselves...it would be the exact same with something less positive with Conservative/May supporters...no more, no less and neither surprising because it’s fairly obvious that people in general don’t scream negative things about the party and people they support...those things are always left to ‘the opposition’...as you have done, Brillo...you’ve obviously brought it to the attention of with the thread and the article...

...so far as priorities go..?...well, if this article is fact then it’s not going to change, it isn’t a ‘thing of the moment’ and can be discussed any old time...but the balloon blimp..?...well that was a thing of the moment, a moment in time so a priority right now as Trump’s visit isn’t a long lasting thing, it’s just a temporary, now thing...and Trump is a controversial President so many will have strong feelings about his actions...one way or the other...

...anyways I fairly much feel like Vicky does atm...I’m politically homeless and politically up the creek without a paddle... neither main party are something I fully believe in atm for various different reasons...but I don’t believe in not exercising my vote either so if there were to be an election pretty soon in the upcoming.....eeeek...

The more money to the NHS, the better. Labour always used to suggest more money, until now, and Labour will probs one-up the Tories yet again very soon.

I think that’s part of the problem - getting one-up on the opposition shouldn’t be the motivation. The Left are sold to us as the ‘caring’ party but articles like this suggest differently.

thats strangely poetic haha, and i agree

I guess I was just responding to why the lefties have been strangely quiet on this thread.
Probably because Tories are very momentarily suggeting that they'd provide more to the NHS than the opposistion, but it has rarely ever happened, and it wont last long, so theres not much to discuss really.

Dear me this is a skewed article, basically it states at the election the govt committed to an increase but didn't cost it.. Labour did, and very well.

Labour have now committed to raising that but have not as yet costed it as have the government who hasn't costed for public scrutiny how they intend to raise funds ...so effectively how can this be a slight on Labour only? Neither have a detailed plan for anyone to see to show how funds will be raised but the tories are in power.... Should an election be called again Labour will put out as before a costed projection.
We need to see that from the government now.
