Never understood how people can eat rice with anything other than a spoon (chopsticks aside) but apparently there’s some sort of snobbery about it. Which one do you use to eat your rice?

I don't eat plain rice on it's own. even so it's easy to do with a fork.

People from traditional rice-eating countries don’t use forks. Forks are just a European adaptation. Not how the actual owners do it

I'd never eat rice plain cause that's disgusting I'd eat with something. So following from montblanc saying about the meat I'd have rice with a fork because it's easier to scoop up the other stuff
Eating rice plain is like having bread without anything on it ![]() |

Proper English way. Proper Indian or Japanese not so much. Remind me when rice become an indigenous British staple?

Mhm. The English way that’s made of up rice pudding and foreign sauces. I like seeing people who borrowed a food saying their way’s more proper than the way of the owners.
