Default USA : Crazy Man on stage, attacks Dave Chappelle

Get better security Dave

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-stage-LA.html

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...tflix-is-joke/

Brief Video shows the speed he ran on the stage

[Dave Chappelle is attacked on stage in LA after woke
activists tried to cancel him for jokes about trans people
last night attacked on stage while filming
a Netflix special in Los Angeles.]

[Jamie Foxx, who was watching the show from
the wings of the Hollywood Bowl,
rushed on stage along with security to detain the attacker.
Video from the Netflix Is A Joke event shows a man
charging on to the stage and tackling the comedian
before he is dragged off by security.]

[Journalist Sharon Carpenter also posted
a tweet about the incident,
claiming Chappelle was 'assaulted' on the stage
when the man 'ran on-stage and lunged at him
knocking him to the floor'.

"Security & his entourage then cornered
the man as Dave joked about how him
getting 'stomped' backstage [sic]," she added.

The comedian stayed on stage in spite of the
disruption, and after recovering his composure
he appeared to joke: "It was a trans man."
The comment comes in reference to ongoing
controversy about some of Chappelle's jokes which
have led to him being accused of transphobia.]

Why was this crazy person at a Dave Chapelle show in the first place if they hate his jokes ??!? . Chapelle has been around for so long people should know by now what his material is like, YouTube is their friend if they want a quick reminder.

Plus why was it so easy for this nutter to jump on stage to attack ?!? . That's worrying.

What the hell !
How did he sneak a gun in ,and where was the high security.

He bought a ticket to the show just to attack Chapelle, what a complete psychopath. Let's see if any action is taken against this unhinged individual .

I imagine he went specifically to do this... rather than to watch the show. Sounds like it was obviously planned rather than a spontaneous angry reaction.

You do have to wonder if the Will Smith Oscars nonsense has sparked the idea in people that if they don't like an act, they can simply get on stage and make their feelings known...

I suspect we'll start seeing increased stage security at things like this. Which is a shame, really, as it removes some of the audience connection that is really the whole point of going to see something live.

Yeah I wondered if the Will Smith incident has triggered this, but then saying that .. maybe this nutter would have still done this.

If issues like this become a reoccurring thing, then it will probably get to the stage where audience members are limited to events , and theyll probably get prolonged security searches. Or maybe we'll go back to virtual audiences for shows.

UPDATE: Replica Gun

[A man who police said was armed with
a replica gun rushed a stage and tackled
comedian Dave Chappelle as he was performing
at a Los Angeles comedy festival late Tuesday.]

Ol' Chappelle's pretty steady on his feet, he got rugby tackled and barely lost his balance.

Hmm, even if this wasn't prompted by Smith, two incidents so close together definitely have a chance of starting a little "trend". These sorts of things obviously aren't unheard of but not usually with such high-profile examples.

Comedians being unable to perform without a risk of being physically attacked because some people didn't like something they said is really a pretty bleak future.

Just popping in to say, i watched that episode of South Park a few months back, absolutely spot on with Jimmy/Stand up/Talk show host not being able to joke about anything.

These people feel enabled by their bubbles on twitter and if someone like will smith can get away with it without any real issue, I fear a comedians life will never be the same again. I’m surprised they didn’t offer him complementary popcorn and sit him in a vip seat

Not just comedians in the long run I guess, any celebrity who has "dun wrong!" is likely to be more at risk if launching actual physical attacks becomes a regular occurrence... and tbh for one group or another, that's pretty much all celebrities.

Any evidence the person actually had anything to do with trans? Aside from a flippant joke made by someone who makes flippant jokes about trans people?
