I'm ready whenever it is to help in all ways I can to get this rotten from the core shambles of a hard-line heartless government OUT.
The alternative is not wholly appetising but at least there should be far more in the way of understanding, compassion, compromise, more fairness and justice. No matter where it is across Great Britain, whichever Party is best placed in second places to beat the Cons then I hope voters will help ensure that comes about . There's not another single Party ( except possibly the extreme DUP), in the current parliament who would in any shape or form want this Con Party back in government. So voters I hope will think hard on that too. The only SURE way to ensure this smug and arrogant shower are booted out is to vote Labour. Under this atrocious electoral system we have. I'll be championing Labour. Anyone and any Party HOWEVER couldn't be even just as bad as this ignorant bunch in now, never mind be worse Last edited by joeysteele; 21-05-2024 at 05:54 PM. |

July?!
Calling it for July at this point would almost be a snap election. It would be pretty stupid for the Tories to have it this soon, as the wind is still somewhat blowing in Labour's direction. Unless they're just waving the white flag, one would have thought they'd want to engineer a scandal to disrepute Labour, and/or push through some mind-blowing policies... Are they giving up?

Some people are calling this government heartless, and even though they wiped our faces in the covid mess whilst lording it up themselves, we do now have a leader less heartless than his predecessors the last 50 years as he has addressed the contaminated blood issue.

I wish someone would start a brand new party
No politicians .. just honest , super-intelligent, experienced people . Get successful financiers in charge of the nation’s finances .. amazing doctors/surgeons / dietitians in charge of the NHS and so on .. The best people for the jobs/roles Not this nonsense of corruption and incompetence Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I agree with Zizu. I would be in favour of raising the salary of MPs to attract top people because at the moment, we get people who're involved with other businesses or have trust funds. A financier or surgeon wouldn't accept an MP's salary. I would raise their salary but stipulate that being an MP must be their one and only job. I'd also like to see the military run defence, although I know that'll never happen.
Currenly, I have no idea at all who I would vote for, they're all bloody useless. |

I think the last thing we need is another new Party or Parties.
What is needed are ALL the current Parties to listen to the people and get back to serving the people rather than themselves and their hunger for power only. It's why I believe in PR now. Not as a solution but as the start of a solution to the mess UK politics is and even the structure of governing and parliament. The vast majority of ALL MPs enter politics with really good intentions and hopes. No matter their Party. However, it's the unnecessary confrontational and divisive politics highlighted by sadly the party leaders. Then the removal of Independent and conscience related thinking by the brainwashing almost of the MPs through the whipping system, which ruins so much that could be positive. Over a third of voters eligible to vote, do not do so. Cons, Labour and others fail to grasp why . Because with so many Parties and Independent candidates too. Still that up to a third see no one they could vote for. The Conservatives are the oldest and one of the strongest election winning machines.. That should never be underestimated and it should even be admired. I don't believe there's any Party that really wishes to make lives unbearable for the UK citizens or even wish to damage the Country either. However for me it's become clearer to me that absolute power on a minority of the votes cast Now more fails in government than helps succeed . Which is why I support PR as a starting point to begin a process of positive changes to government. It's why I'm livid with my current, I say current Party leader Starmer for rejecting the overwhelming vote in favour of PR at the 2 Labour conferences before last year's. However I hope that will be in the next manifesto if Labour win this coming election. I stress IF, because I'd never underestimate the Conservative machinery of winning elections Because it will end for all Parties, the being given absolute powers, for around 40%+ of votes cast. PR, will only come from when one major Party decides to adopt it. The Con party NEVER ever will. The whole movement of Labour now wants it. I will join any efforts to get it adopted by Labour now for the election after this coming one Maybe then that will help with many who no longer vote to do so believing their votes can make a difference. Hopefully removing the false hatred and divisions in parliament, by forcing a much better working together by more Parties. Plus ensuring no Party rules with absolute unfettered power again hopefully too. Last edited by joeysteele; 22-05-2024 at 12:47 PM. |

Take a look at America, that is what is coming here. It may not be at the next election, but it will apply to the one after that. Our opinion of politicians is way to high

The PM needs to stop this playing with the electorate re an election.
We should have had one With all that's going on in the World a new stronger mandated government should be in place. Were Sunak to be calling an election sooner now before Autumn. Then it's either because there's moves against him and/ or that he's expecting more bad news on the home front or internationally later in the year. Voters be WARNED. Fuelling this election rumour, will only likely infuriate the voters more if he continues to tease. If he thinks he's got the argument to make and no else has. Put his money where his mouth is and call an election. Last edited by joeysteele; 22-05-2024 at 03:24 PM. |

Surprised at the timing really. I thought an autumn date was looking more likely given the economy is showing modest signs of improving but going this soon won't give any time for people to really feel that
Maybe he's hoping everyone will be buoyant in the summer especially if the Euros are going well Last edited by MTVN; 22-05-2024 at 03:38 PM. |

He's maybe been advised better news on that and some fronts may come again in June. Good news during any election campaign would be very welcome to any PM and government. It would seem like a mad decision on paper but he may feel where things are now, are the best he could expect for the rest of the year. So take the chance. |
