Default Question for my mandem. Martha's avoid.

So. Sarah had a burning question about shaving. She sort of saw it as something she couldn't possibly ask. Then she was told to spit it out. So she wanted to know if guys shaved their balls basically. I don't get why that's still something others don't want to talk about. Women talk about shaving their cha cha's so why can't men? Marcello was first to add to the conversation. Is it a taboo conversation?

I guess if somebody asks, I’ll tell them. I wouldn’t just drop it casually into a convo.

…not taboo in any way, no…but maybe just more …unexpected…?…I don’t know but I’m trying to flip around and think…if that was a guy asking with females…?…would it sound a bit creepy……I think maybe yeah, it might do…it’s not something that all females talk about but if/when they do it would kind of be on their terms for such a personal thing/as in a conversation they started for whatever reason of starting it…and even then, not everyone in a group might think that’s appropriate…especially in a diverse group with Muslims as part of the group as well and as Hanah said…it’s a sacred area, would that also apply to male as well as female …I’m not saying this very well but I’ve just woken up and yeah, for them also…it would have felt a bit like an unexpected topic…

It was a very personal question, sometimes people who ask those questions... wouldn't like being asked themselves.

Well obviously not.

"How was your day?"

"Good thanks. Went to work. Bit of shopping. Went out for a meal. Shaved my balls."

It's most certainly a personal choice, of course it's not norm to ask someone unless you have a specific kind of friendship with them.

Of course they do. Many of my male friends manscape. We don't have an issue talking about it. It's just taking pride in yourself. You never know what might occur.

Something I've noticed about this season (didn't see last year so not sure if that was similar) is that everyone seems very hesitant to talk about anything related to sex. (Well, bar Emma and Marcello.) Not saying that people should be going around making sexually suggestive comments all the time, but it feels like they're treating the slightest mention as a bit taboo.

In this instance, though, I imagine Sarah thought it would be rude for her to ask Khaled if he shaved his balls (which, fair enough, I would too). I don't think it's that she thought it was taboo for men to talk about shaving, but that she didn't want to ask because she didn't want to be invasive. It is a very personal question.
