11 hours
Got up just before 7am and ate first food at 6 pm ( fish and chips ) Just had a black coffee at 7am .. worked all day .. drinking water throughout until teatime. Usually have a healthy meal but the chippy was just convenient as we were running late Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Zizu; 08-02-2023 at 10:02 AM. |

Always have breakfast as soon as I wake up now. Never had it before but I do find it sets me up better for the rest of the day now I've made it a routine

you need to eat something shortly after waking to activate your metabolism, it's a proven fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day

I hate to have things hanging over my head, once I awaken I basically ablute, dress, and eat right away, even if it's at like 5
Then I have to twiddle my thumbs for ages until the actual day begins

It’s actually EXTREMELY healthy ., Google .. intermittent fasting … it could change your life . I fast for 19 hours every day and have done for just over 7 years .. Until flaming Covid got me I never used to get poorly .. not one prescription since 2016 ! https://www.healthline.com/nutrition...ittent-fasting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Errr no That’s just our crazy modern ways .. The Vikings or Romans didn’t wake up at the crack of dawn .. had a full English then proceeded to rape and pillage or conquer the world .. From what I’ve read breaking your fast as soon as you wake up is a ‘relatively’ modern idea . I saw a program years ago that suggested that we in the uk didn’t have a waking breakfast until about the late 1800s so about 150 years ago Nobody had a meal on waking for thousands of years .. not those mentioned above or nomads ( still don’t today ) , Eskimos / Inuets .. even traditional cowboys just wake and have a coffee or some drink then ride / work all day and eat in the evenings. Google intermittent fasting sometime ! I wish I knew about it 50 years ago !! https://www.healthline.com/nutrition...ittent-fasting You know that the phrase ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’ was written by a top advertising guy ( from the cigarettes industry actually) to reverse the decline of Kelloggs cereals .. about 60 years ago .. It was a flippant , throwaway line .. The Vikings died fairly young .. presumably as they spent a good amount of their time in armed combat - plus we are living longer these days simply due to medical progress Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Zizu; 08-02-2023 at 10:10 AM. |

Well I’m certainly not gonna waste all day arguing the pros and cons of fasting …
Millions do intermittent fasting so you guys should read up first or even put your big boy trousers on and actually try it for a few weeks or so There are even Olympic level athletes and sportspeople turning to intermittent fasting to get a few extra % of performance ( legally) Life changing !! That's from the "add up the total and divide by the number of data points" average, and was skewed by a high infant mortality rate - That's why the medieval "average lifespan" was about 35; take a newborn and a seventy year old, what would their mean average be?

Breakfast has been found to affect more than just weight. Skipping breakfast
has been associated with a 27% increased risk of heart disease a 21% higher risk of type 2 diabetes in men, and a 20% higher risk of type 2 diabetes. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/2...202%20diabetes |

Maybe those figures were from a survey / paper ‘funded’ by a company who has a interest in getting everyone to eat breakfast .. Back in the 50’s / 60’s the cigarette companies paid for hundreds of ‘surveys’ to show how safe smoking was .. There’s plenty of research showing that intermittent fasting can actually reverse diabetes type 2 https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/art...iabetes%20risk. Look I’ve absolute thrived on it for 7 years and never felt fitter or stronger .. the only blip was Covid ..
The fact that I’ve not had a prescription or seen a doctor over that period tells a story . Even my dentist is amazed at the improvement.. she even quoted from a dental paper where it shows the benefits of not having food attacking your tooth enamel all throughout the day .. it’s all common sense really I’m done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Zizu; 08-02-2023 at 10:31 AM. |
