If it wasn't the Speidi show it would be the dullest show of all time. No one would want to watch that and to want the show to be like that is detrimental to the brand. It's no surprise that in previous series viewing figures have dropped once the controversial housemates have been evicted, nice, harmonious, happy families don't make good, interesting or entertaining TV - the divisive characters do, it's common sense really. Nobody likes Speidi as people, nobody's denying they're awful people, nobody's saying they'd want to live with them, but without them this series would die on its arse.

Lacey's actually been hilarious with some of the random things she's said. People wrote her off for being the token page 3 model but she's been the most pleasant surprise of the season for me.
But a divisive character doesn't automatically make good television. Speidi haven't done anything themselves that has been entertaining. All they do is complain to each other or complain in the DR. But the thing is that some people ARE trying to make them seem like genuinely good people (which, lol) and some people ARE trying to make them seem the victims in this situation (which again, lol) and that's my biggest gripe with all of this.
