Amazon could soon be your port of call for pizza and ice cream, as the online retailer is trialling food deliveries in the UK. The internet giant has added new fresh and frozen ranges to its Prime Now one-hour special service, and is testing the initiative in Birmingham. Customers with the right post code no longer have to trek to Tesco for the 60 or so groceries on offer, which include fish fingers and Ben & Jerry's ice-cream. Amazon is planning to expand the trial to parts of London next month, according to Retail Week. The test run is thought to be a precursor to the UK launch of Amazon Fresh, the fully-fledged grocery service that has been operating in the US for some time. Amazon Fresh is coming to the UK to strike fear into the hearts of supermarket chains early next year.
