The only time I used the word 'stupid' was to refer to people who are scared of mosques, nobody is scared of mosques - I was being silly, not everything is very serious..
If there was a person who was scared of a mosques, then yes they are stupid lol, but that has nothing to do with culture, which your post strangely suggested? Clarification there might help. But yes, a fear of a mosque would just be idiocy, or tbf, an irrational phobia, and theres several treatments for that.

I'm not sure if you read my post properly

Why are people so thirsty to preserve cultures and traditions? Like most great cultures are constantly changing and evolving with the times just think about how much Britain changes every 100 years. also why are people shook over a few mosques but are happy open up just eat and get themselves a vindaloo and some bhaji's?

You're the one always sarcastically implying people are scared of anything Muslim. Dislike of a controlling religion/culture is not fear and to constantly attempt to undermine peoples' opinions by writing them off as simply scared of difference is Provocative and blind.

It also demonstrates a serious lack of understanding of the long-term effects of the mass immigration of such a culture. Ideology is often blind.

Plenty of other cultures didn't see the British as adding to their culture. Or the French. Or the Germans. Or the Portuguese.

Nothing wrong with accepting other cultures, it all adds to the rich tapestry. However... when other cultures completely overrun an area, like east London for instance, people are entitled to be angry.

Do you see why reacting to it as if it was very serious was a bit mindless lol?
Good luck promoting an ideological British culture, presumably thats not blind?

Yes, that's what I mean. But sadly, it's just the British who bear the brunt of colonialism, despite the fact that most of us never made one penny piece from it, and other countries who were just as cruel and just as wrong, are forgiven. People have a real downer on our history, and while it was appalliing in many cases, we are still being held to account while other countries are revered. And the people who made nothing from imperialism are the ones who now have their areas given over to immigration.

I'm wondering how much longer we have to wear sackcloth and ashes because people generations ago had a bad idea.

It's like the whole United Ireland thing. Most decent English people want whatever's best for Ireland and recognise that what happened in the past was wrong - and that's a mild word for what happened.

We're told we must forgive Germany and Japan... but we can never forgive ourselves and move on.

Many try to disguise the true meaning of their words with 'humour'. Doesn't wash.

Well, I can't speak for everyone else but for me obviously as an Irish person the British empire effected my own country which is why it's more personal I suppose as I would imagine Germany would be for you? I suppose while Ireland is still split in two it's always going to be there in the background as well although I'm not sure if that can ever be rectified at this stage tbh. I do think our countries have turned a corner though compared to not so long ago.

I know your stance on it but it is very maddening when you have people like Arista saying that "England owns Northern Ireland" and a person from Northern Ireland has no right to comment on what happens to his country

yeah, I saw the "we own you..." posts yesterday. I honestly don't know anyone who feels like that.

Just as it is very maddening that people try to deny our culture and way of life as meaningless. Some of us value our culture and will defend it to the hilt.

Yeah, I hope TiBB isn't a proper representation of the general British public

There's literally no similarities at all in these two things

The principle and strength of feeling it creates are the same in my opinion.
