….there is a little article here on the other mural, which was one of 200 that represented the first London Mural Festival, with artists being invited to take part with their work/designs…

‘Right on the heels of a recently finished mural from D*Face, Conor Harrington (interviewed) has completed his contribution to the first ever London Mural Festival. Touching on themes of nationalism, the Irish-born artist goes big with his familiar flag and colonial imagery in Greenwich (71 Trafalgar Rd, SE10 9TS) with this new wall. Just a 10 minute bike ride from his home, Harrington really did a phenomenal job with palette and details of this piece…’

…this shows part of the progress for that specific one when it was being worked on …but there are other articles for some of the other works and showing some of the other murals…all very lovely, all very invited as part of the festival…

…it’s obviously inappropriate, not because of any content…but because of conservation laws…it’s illegal, as Arista would say…

…the owner and the council, though…?…appear to be harmoniously discussing it all with not a single outrage given…as the memes would say…well done them and nice bit of PR for the lovely fish n chips…

Good DM comment

"The council are saying that is an inappropriate advertisement in a preservation area. I
would point out to the council that, in days gone by, shop owners everywhere painted
'adverts' on the outer walls of their shops and those that remain today are much loved and
often subject to preservation orders themselves !"

Council is almost 99% labour so you can guarantee they all hate Great Britain but are happy to be paid and get any UK benefits going.
