Leona Lewis storms singles chart
X Factor winner Leona Lewis has topped the singles chart with the biggest week one sales this year.

Her song, Bleeding Love, was the first from her debut album and it outsold the rest of the top five put together, with 218,000 copies.

She beat Take That's Rule The World into second place and last week's number one, Sugababes' About You Now into fourth.

McFly's The Heart Never Lies was third while Mark Ronson's Valerie was fifth.

'Absolutely thrilled'

Ronson's single, a version of the Zutons track, features Amy Winehouse on vocals.

X Factor judge Simon Cowell said of Lewis's achievement: "The sales are incredible. I'm absolutely thrilled for Leona, she thoroughly deserves it."

Britney Spears's Gimme More fell three places to number six, while Oasis's Lord Don't Slow Me Down was at number 10.

Van Morrison reached his highest position in the album chart at number two with Still on Top - The Greatest Hits.

The Trick to Life, by the Hoosiers, went straight in at number one, with Mark Ronson's Version at three, the Sugababes' Change at four and Back to Black, by Amy Winehouse, at five.

She deserves it, what a great song!

I can't believe Sugababes just dropped to number 4 though.. 5 weeks at number 1 then like 3 new entries or so beat her. bit odd, I don't like McFly.

I'm really glad for her, well-deserved! I hope the next single is a ballad, I predict she'll release Footprints In The Sand next, or maybe Homeless.
