I agree but I wouldn't call 49 elderly.

I hope Robin Armstrong gets ahold of this and finds them all.

Bit judgemental.

At the end of the day, sometimes parents can do everything right but their kid is just a little cockrot of a human being regardless. Some people are just born to be *****.

Mums and Dad's must be so proud. I hope they are caught and prosecuted for assault.

Every wrong person in the world is that way because the parents didn't discipline them?

How very naive.

...poor lady.....so terrifying for her, so callous and unfeeling from those young people...why her ...why anyone..?...why would anyone do that to anyone else, so unfeeling...

...whilst I find this as abhorrent as everyone else and I don’t make excuses at all...Bury St Edmunds is my local town and there is nothing or very, very little for young people there...this surely has to be addressed finally because of this incident...?..it’s something that many of us have been screaming about for a long, long time and been quite vocal about it etc...how can it have ended up any other way when there is no focus, nothing for young people to get involved in, in the way of community and caring for their community and feeling a valuable part of it...and also social and entertainment distractions etc...there is also a complete lack of police presence atm to the point of some literally being told to ‘solve their own crime reports’ for some things...in the Bury St Edmunds parks and in the town centre there has always been an active police presence until the last few years and that’s so important to prevent...and it’s so important to have community police officers as well as help and guidance for young people...I just can’t with this government and their cutbacks...which for me have resulted in these things...this awful thing directed at this poor lady...

...well that could have some truth as well, Adam...the world is not full of perfect parents who are capable of disciplining their children just perfectly, if only, eh...what a great world that would be...that’s why many families need care for the whole family including the parents and they need guidance etc and they need plans put in place from various social organisations...and they all need to work together to achieve that discipline balance etc...sadly though, the funding just isn’t there..it’s not like the government don’t know what’s needed or how to give it...they just don’t act is all...

Yeah many of us grew up in situations like this we didn't turn feral, sorry Ammi that is no excuse whatsoever, not having anything to do shouldn't mean you suddenly forget your morals or have no empathy or feel it is okay to assault a fellow human being, maybe they could do some volunteering somewhere I'm sure there is public transport out of Bury St Edmunds if there is nothing to do there

...that’s why I said I wasn’t excusing their behaviour though, Cherie because there is no excuse for it...there are things though that can be done to prevent things like this happening...to possibly have prevented that poor lady to have gone through something like this if there had been more police presence..and yeah, volunteering is something which definately makes all people feel valued in a community, whether young or older etc...but again, there is no guidance in that either around Bury St Edmunds atm with community policing and such the like...no excuses but possibilities to help prevent is all which surely must be something to be considered in the lack of funding ways we have now...

I don't get it Ammi, we need police to be looking over our shoulders so that we don't assault a vulnerable person for fun, no not buying that, if anything these kids are spoilt brats with zero morals, not victims of lack of funding

It seems that lack of funding hs not stopped the Suffolk Police from deploying 24/7 task force to protect these little bastards from possible retaliatory attacks by members of the public, Cherie.

..no we don’t need police to be looking over shoulders so that we don’t assault people, Cherie..(..sorry I don’t get it either with what you’re trying to say or think I’m saying..?..)..of course we don’t...those morals are inbuilt into us but sadly for whatever reason, some don’t have them or have very little of them so a police presence is helpful in hopefully preventing these things, with the absence of those morals and the absence of any empathy or compassion for human for what’ever reason...in living in this area, I know things like this were barely ever reported to be the case in last days when there was a police presence in the area..both on a community policing level and in upholding the law in prevention of...but now sadly, this isn’t something I’m as shocked at as I should be just because it’s becoming more prevalent here as is probably the case in many areas in the country...

...these young people must fully own what they have done, there is no doubt about that...but for the future, things could be done to prevent similar things happening to other vulnerable people as this is just a recent ‘rise in’ which wasn’t there when more vigilance was there and more guidance was given...

...seriously though Kirk, isn’t that the point though...the funding is there../..was there apparently...but this poor lady had to have this happen to her for that funding to be administered, which is wrong in my opinion...why do people have to go through these things before funding is applied and the government realise there is a problem with cutbacks atm...a serious problem...

I agree, Ammi, but my point - for a long time now - is that in a lot of cases, the Police are directing their supposedly underfunded resources in the wrong way. Some cowardly jerk-offs high up the chain feel it is more important to pander to the perpetrators rather than protect the victims.

It is the liberal left PC way after all.

..I agree Kirk, any funding that is being used is being directed more in the ‘after crime’ than the ‘prevention of’ and that seems like dumb logic to me because it’s the whole essential and fundamental of a police force to prevent crime in their presence if possible...but it has nothing to do with liberal left or pc or anything other than PC’s on the beat where they’re needed and where they have been in the past which is just not happening anymore...in this area anyway, not just in the town but all of the outside villages as well...there is no community policing anymore, no guidance at all and no prevent presence...

..I don’t agree with any type of vigilante actions and that’s not because I’m liberal or PC or any such thing but it’s just not any type of solution because then those vigilantes will have to answer for their crimes to the law and so it goes on and so it goes on with no addressing of any solution...so I do believe that if lives are threatened or thought to be at risk now or if safety is at risk...those measures taken now are important to protect...regardless of what someone has done because the legal way has to be the way in society otherwise there is no society at all...it all breaks down and all is lost...it just could have been directed differently and more appropriately if you like in the first place...rather than drastic measures once the crimes have been committed...sadly the government can’t see this or refuse to, I don’t know but it’s very frustrating and so sad that vulnerable people in society have to suffer such things as this lady has...

I still don't get it, rather than saying this happened because there is nothing to do, or this happened because the police are underfunded, this happened because these 4 are nasty ****s or at least one of them is and the others are easily led, so they need to be sat down and given a talking to about being a human being by a responsible adult and about what is right and wrong although you would have thought they would have learned that by now, but it needs reiterating

...but some young people haven’t learned it by now..they might not have had a responsible parent or adult in their lives to have given that talking to about being a human being with human values...and that’s the thing... that’s a role that a community police officer had when there were such things...to sit them right down and give that talking to if it was felt it was needed...and also to try to direct those nasty whatever’s in other focuses of helping a community...hence ‘prevent’ being a huge priority for me in funding application...it just may have prevented this lady having had to experience this awful thing...maybe it wouldn’t have..?...but it possibly could have while also building moral values into young people who have not had someone to sit them down in their lives...

...I don’t excuse...I’m going to make that very clear...I do not excuse their behaviour which is why if prevention of that behaviour and those mindsets and morals is possible, is changeable in any way...that’s a path to be looked at with more funding...

I'm glad the kids are being exposed nationally for the nasty people that they are. It must suck for the woman though to have the no doubt humiliating photo of her with flour all over her being published all over the country.
