Haha I read about it the other day to be honest, kids will try wear whatever is the fashion, when I was at school it was pencil skirts or farrahs.. we were never sent home they were grateful we turned up in the first place!

I can see why schools won't want girls rolling their skirts up and if this rule stops thst risk then why not? Trousers are nice for school anyway much as I hate silly rules I don't actually mind this one.

but shouldn't the female staff of the school then also wear trousers instead of skirts

like if the school's policies are anti-skirts then female staff should also be told not to wear a skirt

Schools have policies for students they don't have for staff, the staff won't be rolling their skirts up to their knickers hopefully.

School staff do have to adhere to a dress code, no low cut tops or shoulders on display, skirts of a reasonable length etc

There has been no mention that this has been enforced because girls roll their skirts up to their knickers, surprised at that generalisation tbh

I remember when I was at school being really annoyed because I had to wear a skirt when I wanted to wear trousers

It's just a uniform, it really doesn't matter.

If it doesn't matter then why are they changing it?

Why would this be an issue? Unless some go to school knickerless?

White hoods and red dresses next?

Precisely, the idea that someone seeing a flash of knickers will drop dead or something

Exactly.

Unless... and here's me speculating wildly as I have no connection to today's school kids or much knowledge on the subject....unless there have been cases of girls turning up at school sans knickers (inspired by some celebs getting in/out of cars and flashing their foo foo) and boys are aware of that and try to take exploratory upskirting snaps with their mobiles?

I didn't say they wouldn't have to adhere to a dress code just not this one put in place for students....
Neither did I say thats why it had been introduced I don't know why, it's just my opinion on why it might. It's not a generalisation it's supposition.

It was originally introduced because the Head thought there may be a modesty issue in the new building, when the builder allayed these concerns they went ahead anyway

Which us why I suggested it was for a different reason, such as the girls altering the length of their skirt. I have read the article Cherie.

This tbh.

If the pupils have to adhere to a school uniform then that’s what they should do. It’s no different to being required to wear a uniform at work?
