Starmer purges left wing minorities and welcomes actual tories with open arms, he really is showing what his vision of the party is now that they’re pretty much guaranteed to win the election

honestly, i wish this happened more often. Peoples political views are always evolving because the world is always evolving. It seems perfectly reasonable for re-alignments to take place

I agree.

Plus he's joining the Party but not seeking election as an MP again.
He's standing down.
Plus he's waited right to the end of this governmental term.

As for Abbott she's back in the Party too anyway.
I'm actually sick of hearing her name now to be honest.

Funny how these re-alignments always ramp up closer to elections, and they never seem to transfer to the party that looks as though it's going to lose.

Just a bunch of good people re-aligning themselves for no reason.

Still waiting for the list of extreme left wingers and their extreme views, in the Diane thread. You made the claim ten toes down so I'd like to see who you were talking about. Unless of course you want to admit you may have misspoken, then it's all forgotten.

Well that's fine in my book.

The Party is fighting an election trying to get Con voters to switch to Labour
What's the difference here with Mark.

He won a LABOUR seat originally so he to appeal to those voters clearly wouldn't be on the more extreme side of the Cons.

However he's now just a voter, who now doesn't want to seek election as an MP.
Plus now wants to support Labour.

Contrast that with someone who claims to have been a loyal Labour MP.
Who now is slamming the leader, slamming the Party and saying she's been treated abominably.
Yet wants to have Labour backing to remain a Labour MP.

I'll take Mark Logan any day of the week at this period now than the more deranged almost Abbott just shouting her mouth off in an ugly fashion too.
It's not a good look from her.

I'm a Labour member, I've canvassed and worked for the Party in every election since 2015.
Under both Miliband and Corbyn.
Working equally as hard for both.

However if I.had to now choose between canvassing for this Mark Logan or Diane Abbott.

There's be no contest, I'd want to support him.

I think it's actually commendable he's waited until he's no longer an MP to now join Labour.
It's likely been his thinking a while, since he decided not to stand again anyhow.
However until this point he did stay as a Con MP and support them in parliament.

That I can admire and do.

Criticising labour leadership after being treated horribly is not a crime outside of an authoritarian playbook. The supreme dear leader narrative is for North Korea, not for remotely sensible people of any political persuasion.

Admitting you’d happily canvass for a Tory rather than a loyal Labour mp who’s given the majority of her adult life to the party and her constituents, because she doesn’t kiss the feet of the party leader that’s treated her with nothing but contempt, just says to me that you’re a Tory or a factionalist who’ll do whatever the leader of the times says to do

We've had one conversation, stop pretending you're being hounded. I'm against authoritarians of any political persuasion, not specifically labour. i called out Johnson for purging the right of any dissenting voices in 2019, and I daresay if we pull up some threads from that time, you'd have done exactly the same.

The fact you are now, not only silent on labour doing it, but are fully in support of anything that Keir does, is on you to think about, not for me to give 2 sh1ts about. I have 2 issues with you in this discussion, and I still really like you (you're impossible not to like), are the daily switches between ideologies, depending on what Keir is up to, and the fact you said there were left wing extremists in labour, without providing a single example, despite me asking you on 3 separate occasions. i'm not even interested in the names, I want to know what you believe to be extreme ideologies these days, because it's absolute nonsense.

Why? This is only possible if there is very little difference between the parties. No one has a sincere ideological 180 without good reason.

If they were 2 centrist parties, then fair enough, but they aren't. We have a hard right government and a right wing lab party. That's why these politicians are interchangeable.

That Christian Wakeford dude called labour a bunch of C's, then a bit later he was happy to join before local elections.
