BBC News Text :
[The prime minister has insisted that pensioners
will be able to afford the loss of winter
fuel payments, writes the Times.
The paper adds peers are urging the MPs to
vote against the policy, as it will
embolden the House of Lords to kill the
measure when they get to vote on
it on Wednesday.]

In Parliament
Conservatives are asking using Alan Milburn
is a conflict of interests.

Labour Wes Streeting
confirmed Alan Milburn has no pass
or any role.

Alan Milburn now runs private healthcare

This was an Urgent Question

the fact that the rise is to allow the pension to keep up with current living standards means absolutely nothing obviously

right? the way they are crowing about it you could think its all extra money because the cost of living is dropping....it equates to about 8.00 a week....

I forgot as well that the Tories handed out cost of living payments of 900.00 to all those on Universal credit and pensioners for the last two years but that has also stopped
