You always do what you want, so why ask.

I think it's only you left that would ask someone if you could do what you want, now that Kate's went to bed.

I would like to think I wouldn't use children or pets in this way, but I don't have an estranged partner and my kids are big enough to make their own choices now so this will never be tested

I wouldn't use kids against a partner but sometimes the partners make that choice themselves and don't step up.

It’s normally the abusive side of the partnership that uses the kid as a weapon.

It’s the deadbeat parents that accuse the other one of using the kid.

My daughter is an adult now but no I never used her like that when she was young, luckily neither me or her dad were petty like that. I always wanted her to have a good relationship with him and she does

I've seen this done to a loved one and I believe people - and it is usually women - who use their kids to hurt the other estranged parent truly are the lowest form of life.

This is how decent people behave. I hope I would, God forbid I'm ever in the position.

Well, it's your child you'd be hurting most of all and I'm always going to love my child much more than I could dislike anyone else. Not that I dislike her dad, we get on fine, we're not friends or anything but I have no issue being in his company when I have to be, we all went out for dinner when she graduated university for example

Naaaaaaahhhh 99% of the time - and I'm not saying it NEVER happens, but 99% of the time - when people separate and the person with custody keeps the other partner (yes usually the bloke) out of the picture as much as possible, it's for a very good reason.

And when the men are crying and moaning about that extensively to their friends and family, about how unfairly they've been treated and how it's actually an attack on them, 99% of the time they either have zero self awareness or they're simply talking out of their arse for sympathy.

You can make that 100% when it's people bawling about it publicly online. They're weaponsing sympathy, if anything, happens all the time.

So you realise how rare it is for courts to grant single custody if both parents want it?

If the court has granted it it's for a good reason. It's actually far more common for the courts to grant full access when there HAS been abuse, than the other way around.

Take these "fathers for justice" whinges with an absolutely massive pinch of salt, I guarantee that almost every one of them made their own bed and are now just feeling sad (or angry) about having to lie in it.

My nieces father who hasn’t seen nor wanted to see her for about 5yrs now, is the very type of man you’ve described here.

He has two children with two different mothers and doesn’t see either of them.
He tells anyone that will listen how the mothers are the ones stopping him when the reality is, he’s just a dead beat.

He follows all the fathers for justice groups on Facebook. It’s hilarious.
