When cuts are (potetially) being made to things like helping old people to heat their homes, and to disabled people's only income, along with tax rises ... why is that even still a thing? It's the kind of pointless luxury that should be the first to go.

The amount listed in the above totals to £1,384,264.
"The budget for West Yorkshire Police in 2024–2025 is £615.5 million" (quick google) Thus these figures represent roughly 0.2% of total budget. So it seems quite unlikely? You probably need to learn to look at numbers in proportion, rather than seeing "big numbers" and saying "That's lots!" If you'd like another stat The entire West Yorkshire police budget is equal to 0.15% of your pal Elon's treasure trove. |

November just gone the DT revealed that Police diversity jobs have increased by almost a
third in three years Richard Tice, the Reform UK deputy leader, described it as an “outrageous abuse of taxpayers’ cash” and said the spending did “nothing to prevent crime and catch criminals”. Earlier last year Kemi Badenoch, then the business secretary and equalities minister, commissioned a report which found that the majority of spending on EDI was a waste of money. |
