It's probably stored on the Box in the format it was received which a form of mpeg 2, but that's not the problem.

The problem is going to be getting it off the box and onto your computer without taking the box apart and removing the hard drive. I have never seen one of these boxes but I guess there no digital output that can interface with the PC. So you will either need a video capture card or a DVD recorder. If got one those it can be done assuming no form of copy protection is being used by the box such as Macrovision's legacy ACP copy prevention or RipGuard,

Do you want me to carry on?

Okay....

assuming you can get the programmes onto DVD by recording them off the Box then you need to copy the DVD to a format recognized by YouTube such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, MPEG, .MP4, DivX etc.

For that you are going to need something like this piece of software:

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Now after that your on your own, I don't have a PC, I use a Mac so others might be better to help from this point on.

No problem it gives you a start.

BTW if you only record onto DVD the bits you want you can save yourself a lot of video editing, especially if you are just making short clips.
