Initially I thought that Jay had destroyed all of Harry's clothes and some of Aaron's clothes with ketchup.
After watching back all of the videos, it sounded like it was Anton who told Aden to get the ketchup. Jay then squirted this ketchup all around the sides of the bathtub, and not all over clothes that were in the bathtub. He said he might have accidentally hit one of the items of clothing that was hanging on the side of the tub. The clothes that were in the bathtub with the red water was explained as follows. Anton poured a bottle of red food coloring into the bath, and Jay threw 4 pairs of boxers and a t shirt into this water. That was it. He did not throw all of Aaron and Harry's clothes in there, and he did not cover all the clothes in ketchup. From watching the clips this is my understanding of what happened, unless I actually see some more clothes getting destroyed in tonight's highlights. It is not right to damage someone's clothes, but it is nowhere near as serious as I originally thought. For deliberately attempting to ruin the task, then messing with all of the shopping list, I think giving Harry 4 pairs of pink boxers in a retaliation prank is not really that serious. Jay had slipped from my favorites earlier because I had thought he had ruined all of the clothes and because he then denied it. I think the one of the worst things he did was initially denying it, I don't like that, but I am not as annoyed with him now since he came clean, and I see that it was not all of the clothes, but a few pairs of boxers. Bear in mind that Harry is also one of my top 3 favorite housemates too. It seems they have all hugged and made up now anyways. http://bigbrotheruk-s1.channel5.com/...again/#content [I still have to watch last night's episode, from what I'm reading Jay threw a massive tantrum and threw out some coffee, so I will have to watch that episode.] |

I think to be fair, in the BB house most things are likely to get blown out of all proportion, however to me,if anyone 'risks' by their actions spoiling or damaging someone elses property no matter the result of their actions then that is totally unacceptable behaviour.
In that Jay was in my opinion wrong. Wrong on lot's of things, even to the point where he denied even doing the ketchup incident. He must also be aware of the cameras, that he would have been seen doing it, yet still initially tried to cover himself by saying he hadn't done it. Of course also being in the BB house people need to try to get along but its' clear for some reason and I guess it's the things we haven't seen too as to Jay's behaviour. Harry has been getting fed up with Jay for a while now. What Jay did with the coffee etc was really ridiculous too. I personally don't like him at all as a housemate,(so admit I now speak of him from a biased view), I would have done what Mark did and would have had to leave if I was in a house with someone like Jay for his language, his fantasising,(I go 'not again' when he decides to tell another of his very graphic exploits), and disrespect for women alone. I am just glad at last we are seeing someone namely Harry, taking him on and just cutting him down to size at last. Last edited by joeysteele; 07-10-2011 at 08:27 AM. |

Thanks for the replies.
I think you are correct joeysteele in saying that Harry (and probably Aaron too) have been getting fed up with Jay. I think it might have started when Jay stashed some cans in the garden a while back. I also think that Jay was jealous of Aaron when he was getting so much attention over kissing both Maisy and Faye. He couldn't seem to get his head around it at all, as to why two very pretty girls showed more interest in Aaron than him. He said he thinks Aaron is a gameplayer "he's like a monopoly board" etc. Aaron has already spotted that Jay doesn't like him, and as Harry is Aaron's friend, they have both probably spoke about things they don't like about Jay. They both see that Jay seems to be one of the leaders of that little group, especially over Aden. Harry described Aden as Jay's little bitch or henchman. So I don't think they like this at all. I would probably feel the same in the house. I would not want to be a "leader", but I certainly wouldn't want to bow down and follow the lead of any "alpha" male or female either. Aaron predicted right from the start that Jay would lose control over food, so I think sabotaging the shopping list was not really a jokey prank for the whole house, but a direct "F you" to Jay. I also think that they only tried to ruin the task solely because Jay was the "boss". The task envelope said that the bossiest housemate would play the role of the factory boss, and Jay automatically appointed himself as this person, then picked who Harry and Aaron see as his "henchmen" to be his managers. If somebody else had been boss, I don't think they would have tried to ruin the task at all. When ruining the task failed, the next thing they thought of was destroying the the shopping list. I know that Anton did dare Harry, but I think Harry had already been saying that he was tempted to ruin it anyways. As I said Harry is one of my favourites, so I can kind of see where he was coming from. Himself and Aaron just really don't like the feeling that Jay might start acting like he is leader of the whole house, so did these things on purpose to get to Jay. Jay seems to have reacted very badly which they knew he would, [I still have to watch the rest of last nights episode], but I still don't think that putting some boxers in food dye was as serious as everybody seems to think. It was a purely vengeful act, but I think Harry and Aaron's actions were also spiteful and done deliberately to annoy Jay aswell. I think it is just a power, control, and ego struggle, with both Harry and Aaron refusing to "step into line" under anybody. I think the way Harry has so strongly reacted has shocked the other lads, and I think this is a good thing. I think it is good, because hopefully he will have gained the respect of Jay and the rest, and they will see that he is not to be messed with. I hope that this leads to a mutual respect between the two of them, and that they now start to get on better with each other. I'm glad that Jay has apologized, and that they have hugged and made up. I hope that they are genuinely made up with each other, because I like both of them. I don't think either are bad fellas, just that they had a bit of a power struggle with each other, which is hopefully now resolved. |

Both Harry and Aaron tried everything they could to sabotage the task which, had they succeeded, would have seriously effected the shopping budget. Aaron was smashing up toys that other HMs had spent hours working hard on, but that's apparently OK with the Aaron fans. Harry sabotaged the shopping list too. I like Harry, but he's got to grow up and realise that pranks cut both ways.

I think Jay was denying the food colouring (The thing that would actualy stain), but when folks calmed down he did admit to the ketchup as he should have done. |
