A Brazilian woman has been arrested after attempting to masquerade drugs as a pregnancy bump.

The 20-year-old passenger arrived at Natal's international airport last week (March 30) with the drugs simply tied around her waist under her top, reports The Mirror.

Police have said that the woman began acting nervously when asked routine questions, as she had arrived from a country where "drug trafficking levels are high".

The woman admitted to having 2.1kg (4.6lb) of cocaine inside her fake baby bump.

A man who was waiting for her inside a parked taxi outside was also arrested. The identities of the pair have yet to be revealed.
