Ah just read further into this, colleges are going to be under pressure to get the kids who failed at English and maths up to grade C whilst on their vocational courses.
I don't feel this is right or fair, the extra training and resources required by tutors to achieve this as well as the extra workload for the students will be unworkable. http://www.theguardian.com/teacher-n...-grade-schools |

I don't get the resistance. I suck at maths, it's my worst subject. However, I still got A Level maths because I worked hard at it and I'm sure that's how a lot of people get through. I use maths every day... tax returns, calculating how much paint or wallpaper I'll need, doing my mileage, weighing stuff for cooking... all sorts of reasons. Maths is important, and doubly important for quite a lot of careers.
Grade C isn't unobtainable for most people if they put their minds to it, I think it's because some people just can't be bothered. I don't get this idea that if it's too hard, you should probably just give up because it's just too much trouble. |

This isn't about A level, It's about GCSE's. Who are going to teach all these lazy post 16s?
