Nope. I appreciate people wanting it for the more extreme cases but even then there's always a chance that they may become decent, functioning members of society ... plus it'd be incredibly difficult and expensive to implement.

There really isn't any need.

who have killed an innocent, decent, functioning member of society??

I am not an advocate of the death penalty but I do think whole life tariffs are in order. Why should someone who has taken a life be entitled to become a functioning member I society? Their victim does not have that luxury.

Very true but I still don't think it's fair that life should be taken from anybody. Whilst I'm absolutely not trying to defend murderers, there could be contributing factors as to why they did it, if that makes sense?

It's really complicated but I'm not sure I like the idea of life being written off for anybody completely.

innocent people are being starved to death in hospitals and yet people have a problem with killing scum that take innocent lives.

we have spent more on making weapons that can kill more humans quicker than trying to cure cancer!
wake up to the real world!.

we are not allowed to mention the tens of thousands who die from neglect in british hospitals each year, because nurses cannt be criticized and any man who does so is a sexist .....25000 died last year from undiagnosed blood clots in UK hospitals

Why would that be sexist though? There are thousands of male nurses. I agree the NHS is in a mess but I think that's more down to underfunding.

I can go with that anniek76,I think once you have taken a life from another and even moreso if you have committed several murders then you should be removed from society for the rest of your life as a norm.

This killing of children and people and then getting out after 20 years or less is a gross insult to the victims suffering and the ongoing torture their loved ones have to live with.

People actually stop being in any way a decent member of society once they rob somone of their life, they should then never get the chance to be able to maybe do that to anyone else ever again in my view.

A child of say 10 gets murdered, their life, their future all they could have been have been taken away from them.
Their killer gets life, they could be out again in less than 14 years,to pick up the life they had before or start again.
That is not real justice, a much heavier price should be paid for such murders I think and for me at the very least life should now mean life as to the crime of murder where no self defence was an issue.

No. It's barbaric and inhumane. I think to imprison someone and strip them of all freedoms and liberties is a far worse punishment than death.
