It wasn't intended as an insult, my point was that it's impossible to monitor what kids are doing 24/7, they've made a decision and now they'll have to suffer the consequences - or, they've made a decision and perhaps they'll relish the choice they've made. Of course there is still an outside chance that they've gone to go try and get their friend back as one family member suggested, but I highly doubt it.

I see one of the girls families are saying they have never heard of ISIS and don't know anything about them.

They must live without ever coming into contact with the media in any way or they could just be liars.

Stupid girls, everyone in syria would love to escape from there and they go there. I hope they wont die but if they die it is their fault.

I know what I think, and it rhymes with 'Friars'.

If they've gone to go join the fight, they're in for a rude awakening. A series of rapes followed by a gruesome death seems far more likely than anything else. Silly, silly girls.

[CCTV footage has emerged appearing
to show the three teenage girls who
are thought to have joined
Islamic State in Syria.
Three girls - believed to be Shamima Begum,
15, Kadiza Sultana, 16,
and 15-year-old Amira Abase - are seen
at a bus station in Istanbul
in the footage, which was shown
on the Turkish television channel A Haber.
The girls are seen wrapped up in
heavy winter jackets, two with
hoods pulled up, and carrying
packed sports bags and holdalls.]
