Default Toys R Us UK plans to shut 26 stores, possible loss of 800 jobs

This has been on the cards for some time

https://news.sky.com/story/toys-r-us...-risk-11156256

[Toys R Us said it aimed to begin
closing UK stores from the spring 2018]

[Toys R Us has announced plans
to shut at least 26 stores in the UK,
placing around 800 jobs - a quarter
of its workforce - at risk in the weeks
before Christmas.
The company, which has been loss-making
for several years amid a string of
pressures from expensive,
largely out-of-town shop premises
to strong competition, said there
would be no changes over the
crucial festive season.]

its a doomed company, and even if they do this, it may not be good enough to satisfy their creditors

I have a soft spot for Toys R Us due to my childhood memories, but it is gonna struggle to adapt to the Internet age where sites like Amazon have tons of toys in stock that you can buy instead.

I do hope though that Toys R Us can sort their problems out.
