I agree. Have you got any examples? I've just had a good look and all I can see is people saying that others are saying these things, without anyone quoting or naming and shaming.

Worth noting the majority of people admitted are still in intensive care though

I posted earlier (to some peoples disagreement for some reason) that I read an article just today about how vital "deep sleep" is in the first 3 or so days of any virus... Which basically means trying to get 10+ hours through the night, or if night time sleep is disturbed, napping as much as possible through the day. Trying to "stiff upper lip" with a virus is a really bad idea.

I made myself quite ill a few years back trying to push through a virus, still getting up for school run etc and went back to work far too early, ended up with some weird post-viral syndrome where I almost passed out cold at the bus stop at 7am one morning, and then I was getting sky high temperatures every night for over a week.

There's obviously no way to say that it wouldn't have gone the same way regardless, but the sensible thing for ANYONE to do if they fall sick is stop work immediately and focus on rest.

"reported final outcome" is interesting terminology though, I had assumed it was a certain 50/50 but given that recovery reporting has been dire across the board, I wonder how well reported the recoveries are? Is every recovery reported, or is it on the lacking side like general recovery reporting?

Twitter should instantly ban those idiots and completely erase all data from their accounts .

Also pass their personal info onto the police !!

I wouldn't say I'm more concerned for his wellbeing than I am for anyone else in ICU, though I'm certainly wishing him well as I would anyone else, also. Wishing him harm is disgusting.

I am quite concerned about public reaction if it does end badly, though. I think it'll cause a new panic wave, because of his visibility and status.

Yet people still ain’t listening to the rules, going to beaches, popping round their friends for a drink, having gatherings, flouncing around town getting drunk with strangers, this is serious.

I think if Boris gets through this as I expect him too and the cases and deaths haven't dropped enough I think he will take a really strict approach having gone through the worst part himself

Are there certain arwas where this is more of a problem than others? I've seen literally nothing like this around here. Eerily quiet, if anything.

It's shameful though if that's what it takes when so many other world leaders responded with science and sense... and his response of herd immunity has brought him to this.

I still quite firmly believe that a "too strict" lockdown would have the opposite effect, though. We're not used to being an obedient population like somewhere like China. In many ways, at normal times, that's a GOOD thing but it means the stronger the "No, you can't", the stronger the impulse to say "****ing watch me".

We also don't have the police or military resources to actually enforce it widely so threats of action are somewhat empty. They could forcibly lock down London and maybe one or two other large cities... That's about it.

Omg it's Mokka.

To be fair though Mokka, the "herd immunity plan" was never really a thing in action and we've been on "social restrictions" for over a month and a fairly standard lockdown (not any less strict than most countries) since schools closed 2.5 weeks ago. The response wasn't as snappy as it could have been, but it hasn't been overly light IMO.

There is of course the issue of parliament not really sticking to their own rules; clambering all over each other, leaning over shoulders, whispering in each others ears... Whilst informing everyone else to keep a 2 meter distance. It's a bit confusing why they thought it didn't apply to them. But a lot of them have caught it so it clearly went round parliament.

it's absolutely silent round here, maybe half a dozen people taking their dogs for a walk each day, and it's been that way since the lockdown started.

I wish Boris well, it's not looking good

50+% it seems. 50/50 of reported cases but I'd err on the side of all deaths being reported but not necessarily all recoveries.

Also I suspect Boris will have been sent to ICU "earlier" than most as they'll be being extra cautious.

I'm also relatively sure it's 50/50 of cases on ventilator... Not 50/50 of all ICU admissions but there's conflicting info there so I might be wrong.

My neighbours over the back fence, and the people across the road from them, like to hoot at each other from their gardens so it's not always silent here. To be fair to them, they're keeping a large distance. Hence the need to shout .

The whole street knows how their day has been.
