It was more to clear up confusion as several players throughout the game thought he was female because his name isn't a clear indicator of gender.

But you can rest assured at least one of us will be online at any given time. For example I'm usually online between midnight and 7am.

I agree with every single one of the above posts. Mods should always appear online. When a thread is closed - no further comments should be allowed. At all. Point in case: http://thisisbigbrother.com/forums/s...6&postcount=85 Forget the obvious gang pack mentality.... just home in on one particular member..................... after the thread has been closed Last edited by Pyramid*; 30-07-2011 at 02:29 PM. |

Then during any game I'll run from now on, I'll step down from my mod position whilst running it. I personally don't see the big issue with appearing online, I see it as another excuse to have a pop at us. When I was a member it did not bother me one iota if a mod appeared online because you generally know that at least one will be there at any given time as there are so many of us...

I still cant think of any reason why it would be a problem for mods to appear offline...
As I said, reports still come through as usual, and are dealt with as usual. And I cant think of any 'emergency' or anything that would require a PM straight back. Or any other reason why you would need to know which mod is online :/ Last edited by Vicky.; 26-07-2011 at 03:39 AM. |

I know it can be reported and will get dealt with ASAP but if for instance, someone posted personal information about another, I'd like to know and see there was someone around who could deal with it immediately rather than having to sit around to see if it happened

Don't know why you should appear offline though? i find it easier when Mods are viewable online then you actually know they'll reply then rather then guessing that they are going to be online.. and as for the game bit surely you can just go offline to do the actually task and then back to online afterwards instead of remaining offline for the entire game which is probably frustrating for the contestants as well when they want to get hold of you.
Shape up Mods.

Example
Mods/admin all offline Member gets their name/address posted on here by another member who knows them Now - do they feel safe in the knowledge that at some point someone will be around to delete it? Or do they feel safe seeing another mod IS online to do so? |

If they had reported something and I viewed a different thread for a while, I would have them moaning on about me not dealing with the report immediately, even though I had not seen the report thread. Why should anyone appear offline? |

Discourages spammers and old members rejoining too. Who's likely to pull a fast one if they see mods/admin online?

I get emails when somebody reports something or PMs me. So I would usually come on once that happens. Appearing offline as a host of a game, like Ben does is good because people can track what he does to get a leg up on a task.

Does that not work both ways? For tasks I mean? Mod's can see WHO people are PMing for instance. Members can't.

Ugh, I know. And fine when not abused to the advantage of mods only (NOT all I know!)
Anyway. I'm off. Night/morning people x |
