yes and: they’re classified as vermin and it’s legal to kill them. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...#ixzz31mSBqaxH Last edited by arista; 15-05-2014 at 10:55 AM. |

As seen with the horse meat scandal most people don't have a clue what they are eating, and personally I wouldn't class a squirrel as vermin, but I appreciate some might.

Excellent idea to kill the non indigenous immigrant grey squirrel. Pies look tasty. Good for the man.

Since their introduction into Britain between 1876 and the 1920’s, grey squirrels have spread rapidly, gradually displacing the native red squirrel in most of England and Wales, and in central and south-east Scotland.
Grey squirrels are extremely destructive in woodlands, stripping bark from the main stem and branches of trees. Increasingly, wider impacts of grey squirrels are being recognised as of potential major significance to woodland conservation, biodiversity and sustainability. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/f...ue/INFD-69EKTZ |

I'de like to think if there is a God,that he would reincarnate these animal killers into the very beasts they kill and also suffer the same fate, just throwing that out there.

Squirrels are no different from any other omnivore we eat regularly in the UK.

I hear possum's good too, so long as the wheels of the truck haven't flattened it too much.

I feel that if there was more diversity in the food we ate then there wouldn't be as much exploitation and mistreatment of the animals we do raise as food, the intensive farming methods used now for them would then hopefully diminish.
