but, I like how you described this sort of middle-aged asian couple who appear just totally typical 'every people'. Quote:
But I did think the very same thing you did - IF they are not nominated BB could easily see this 'backfire' since... well... I mean Shabby didn't even get evicted! The audience has this thing to do the opposite of what they think BB is trying to manipulate hehe Last edited by ElProximo; 25-06-2011 at 10:29 AM. |

It sounds like a terrible idea to have a new school vs old school format, because either the new direction housemates will flop, which will ruin C5's credibility, and/or the old school bunch will be so completely irredeemably awful OTT types that they'll be cannon-fodder. And it's not like I can imagine Channel 5 are somehow going to find housemates less typical than Channel 4 ones like Steve, Lesley, Derek etc.
If they had to do this, it'd make more sense as a 'freaks' vs 'normals' (or 'brains vs beauties'). Either way, it resembles the US BB11 'high school' twist quite a lot and that was a disaster. The bit about all the applicants being "BB fans" is weird though since a lot of the problem with the classic Channel 4 'bad' housemate types is that they don't give a crap about the show (e.g. Kris). Hardcore fans vs people who've never seen the show would be kind of fun, but the problem with all these themes is that it'll preclude a bunch of decent applicants from getting on the show because they don't match the series' gimmick. This new school V old school format.
So in other words.. there will be one camp who are fans of the show? But who are stereotypically OTT gay, girls with big boobs, thick.. etc.. Then on the other camp just a group of people who have never seen the show before? I think you need to get people who are in between too. Who have seen the show but are also ordinary people. I think I do want to see a few more people in their 30's, 40's! Who have lived more of a life than a bunch of teeny boppers who will get given this opportunity on a plate. To be fair.. we need an OTT gay. Because as much as they annoy people they bring out entertainment. But then again we just need a normal gay character. Or a feminime lesbian would be brilliant!! Actually I liked Seany and Gerry from BB8. They were both bisexual. Well Gerry more gay really. But these 2 seemed.. normal? Or not. Seany was the joker and Gerry had some intelligence. I remember in BB6 they thought it was some sort of racism divide. Makosi, Kemal, Derek on one camp. Saskia, Maxwell and Anthony on another. It wasn't racist at all though. But I remember there was a debate on it. BB9 had seperate camps too. The freaks like Darnell, Kathreya, Mohammed. V the populars like Jen, Stu and Dale. Eventhough Rex was friendly with Darnell and Mo. But Rex was an inbetweeny really. So yeah for BB11. We need extroverted bizzare people and extroverted "normal" people but who may be a bit of a stereotype?? But then you need people in between. The normal, entertaining ones. Who may be "floaters" so to speak. Or not.. I mean yeah.. I suppose BB are tying too hard to get "storylines" or "camp divides" going on! I am glad they went to that comic book convention. Be good to get a comic geek in. I want some proper political debates. Imagine a load of them going on about politics. Maybe some of the arguments would hit the headlines on the news. The only thing that makes the news is if someone has been racist.... Come on.. Bring back some credibility to Big Brother! So yeah we need a good mix of people. People who also may not appear all what they seem. Such as a feminime lesbian! We have never has a girly lesbian. lol But yeah overall BB just need to get the right mix of housemates. No bores please!! Also no one thick. They just put in a bunch of teeny bopper thick people in. Or even people in their 20's who are thick!! Just look at Kemal from BB6 who was only 19! But he was an incredible housemate. He was strong, articulate and always had an opinion! Unlike the lights of Samanda who were only 19 when they were in the house. They were as dull as dishwater. Please!! Whether the housemate is a freak, normal, stereotype or whatever. They ALL have to be extroverted, have their own opinions and be quite selfish and carefree. You have to be if you are in the BB house for up to 13 weeks.. Last edited by Beastie; 29-06-2011 at 11:18 PM. |

But yeah I agree. 1 or 2 Americans should go in! But the majority should be from the UK. It's UK Big Brother after all! |

I hope this is true. The fame-*****s killed the show. If Channel 5 want it to survive with them, they'll stay the hell away from the desperados.
