I'm on the side of law and order, not the side of a criminal cult.

One might say that an organisation which allows it's members to murder people is a 'criminal cult'

The organizers call for peace. Nobody is allowing anyone to do anything. It's not new for people to use organisations names to further their own agendas.

It's about time black people started waking up in europe. They are treated far worse in Europe than in the US. Europe makes the US look like a racial utopia.

I've live in the USA, and let me assure you, there is more racial tension, there is a bigger racial divide, in the US than there is in Europe, without a doubt. And that has always been the same. |

I understand the principle, but that way of protesting is just stupid. They need to find the right time to practice in order for the message to be taken seriously.

If anything, things like this are going to make people give less of a crap about what they are protesting about. When it gets to this stage I think its less about the actual protest and more about just attentionseeking tbh.

I wonder if any of them had read the year long study by that USA newspaper (forget which but i have linked to it before) that showed conclusive evidence that black people have not been targetted?
I am going to guess at none |

Great. Meanwhile, black people are actually being targeted.

A lot of people did/do. Pissing people off in this way is NOT the way to gather more support for your cause. Surely you can see this?

I feel like blocking roads, while it brings attention to their cause, doesn't help their case.
It's been a miracle that someone hasn't said screw it and plowed through the crowd.

Politically speaking, this isn't the wisest action to take for a protest group that has already managed to shove it's way through the door so to speak. I think certain segments of BLM have gone off-script and went the more antagonistic route with their expression and that it is detrimental to the underlying (original) agenda.
BLM has had a ton of press coverage, they have a platform of sorts now and I read somewhere that politicians were trying to get them involved in some changes. The issue for me isn't really that they inconvenienced people or caused discord. The issue for me is why block a road when you are not being blocked from getting your message out to the public through other (ironically more convenient) means. Not only does it feed the counter-arguments, but this isn't the 60's or 70's anymore where media exposure was fairly limited and if you didn't get into the local newspaper or TV station your message was virtually non-existent in the public mind space. Otherwise, just feels more to me like a middle school demonstration. Personally, I'm used to traffic as the city here is one of the most vast. Taking more than an hour to cross town is nothing unusual. On the other hand, my husband hates traffic. Me? Cool as a cucumber. I crank the music, make phone calls to old friends, take selfies of me standing outside the car and giggle internally at all the other people acting like we're waiting for the mother ship from Independence Day. Best part is watching the mobile Mexican restaurants open up shop on the 610 Loop. When I was care taking for my grandmother and she was fresh out of surgery, I had to rush her to the doctor in town for a possible blood clot. Thankfully we got there, but on the way back we got stuck on a ramp due to an 18 wheeler petroleum spill (all 4 lanes) and were stuck at a standstill for 4-5 hours. If I was trying to catch a flight to a sick relative then I would feel fairly victimized. They're not branding themselves to be a very tolerant group which is non-conducive to their goal of promoting racial tolerance. Maybe it is due to lack of having a weak or non-unifying message/political platform, but I think there are also too many interests jumping on the bandwagon (the media) who want their own goals to be met that could care less about racial tolerance. Show yours first, you brought it up. I hope it includes how this man conducted this study. Hopefully not in the safety of a police department which dozens of interviews from police and not from actual civilians that deal with it.
