It's just really bizarre how a watermelon t-shirt can cause this much controversy. I wonder if BB have secretly said anything to Ali , censoring it is a bit much.

I honestly did not know about the politics connotations / symbolism,as I've seen so many casual watermelon designs on everything & not just t-shirts,but kids stuff . It was something I never gave a thought to , It just passively went by me , like a SpongeBob squepants PJ

…I guess for anyone who was aware of a connection with watermelon then they may be drawn to it in terms of the shape as well and realised immediately…but not so for anyone who wasn’t aware because all we would see is a watermelon on a t shirt which in itself has no political slant at all…it’s the shape that’s the indicator, isn’t it…

Agree with this but also see why ITV felt like they had to censor it, I don't think its right to censor people but they probably don't want to look like they're promoting either side and cause up roar. Tbf though the fact that they are doing that probably helped promote the message more as I think for a lot of people the t shirt wouldn't even have registered ( me included) now we all know what it means

I didn't think the issue was the melon itself but that it was done as a map of Israel which would signify Israel being wiped out, look if Jews found it anti semetic who are we to judge, if I saw something that as anti Irish I would imagine many people who are not Irish would not have an issue with it

weelll I think if you are sporting a tshirt that promotes a whole nation being wiped out then Jews have a right to be offended dont you think? if it were the other way round and she was wearing a tshirt that promoted Palestine being wiped out dont you think they would have a case to be offended? …whatever someone’s beliefs that they hold, it’s something they hold in their mind and in their heart and not on their clothing…I mean the only statement that really makes is that rather than think of donating to something that they believe in, they’ll donate to a clothing manufacturer and does that manufacturers hold the same ethics as them also…?…anyway, I just in general don’t get the need to either buy or wear a political slogan t shirt because I suspect so many are made for profit and not for belief reasons…
