But that's my point. Forget about the 'cis' thing for a minute. You wouldn't introduce yourself as a 'woman' in your circle of friends let alone 'cis woman' so it's really not especially relevant.

There are many names/labels for things/people etc in this world that are only relevant at certain times/in certain discussions etc and that's literally all it is. A distinction when discussing trans topics.

...I don’t ever recall being referred to as cis in any debate...or seeing anyone else referred to as such...it would surely only be used as a descriptor if a specific definition was in context to what was being said...I wouldn’t say it would be very widely used as a general...

If you have transitioned to a women then I don’t feel the need to make a distinction.
If Fred became Freda I wouldn’t refer to her as Trans or woman, just Freda.

That's not the point. We're discussing terms which distinguish when it's needed. Not in everyday use, but in a specific debate/discussion.

I'm sure you wouldn't refer to Fred/Freda as "human" in everyday parlance, and yet the word is there when it is useful in certain discussions.

which indirectly is the point the OP was making. A term was being used in an attempt to classify him in a group to make a point rather than add value to the debate.
