She has done a few promos for different countries but ironicly they have used the SAME backdrop behind Madonna for all of them. I blame her manegement, The same manegement who said Revolver would have no video.

Rupert Everret talks about Madonna…
What’s more, he has a special knack of always being where the action is: in Moscow with the tanks and Yeltsin during the 1991 coup, strolling through downtown Manhattan on 11 September, nightclubbing in Miami with Gianni Versace before he was shot, sleeping with Béatrice Dalle when she was the most desirable woman in France, having an affair with Paula Yates when she was one half of the most famous couple in Britain. Not forgetting his most publicly defining role: gay best friend to Madonna. Or at least he was. Until she read his book. “She really didn’t like it.” Didn’t she, I say? But it’s very affectionate. “I think it is very affectionate, and certainly with her I was very careful to only write things that were. But she felt it was an infringement of privacy.” In fact, it is mostly very affectionate. Of their first meeting, he writes: “She had the cupid-bow lips of a silent screen star, and it was obvious that she was playing with Sean [Penn]’s cock throughout the meal. She was mesmerizing. She oozed sex and demanded a sexual response from everyone. It didn’t matter if you were gay. You were swept up all the same.” When I read it a second time around, though, I think I spot some of the areas of potential concern. His observation that she smells “vaguely of sweat”, to take one example. Or that, like all Hollywood’s alpha females, she’s something of a “she-man”. Or just possibly it was this bit that she didn’t care much for: “Just like America, everything about Madonna had changed. And what had happened had been carefully wrapped in psychological clingfilm and locked inside an interior fridge. Sometimes, in moments of stress, Madonna had power cuts and the old whiny barmaid came screaming out of the defrosting cold room.” Still, I say, it’s not like you give anything away. “No I don’t, but goddesses like that are obsessed with their public image and want to control everything about it, so if anyone is to tell anyone anything about her it’s got to be her.” So has she forgiven you for that now? “No.” Really? “Elephants don’t forget.” Has she not forgiven you in a jokey way, or has she really not forgiven you? “She doesn’t trust me any more.” http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/...ole-cadwalladr

Madonna loves Christian Audigier's label, but will we?
He is one of Hollywood's most popular celebrity designers, beloved by the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, David Beckham and Mariah Carey. Now Christian Audigier, the man behind the Ed Hardy label, is opening his first boutique in the UK, prompting the question: are we ready for his tattoo-inspired, crystal-encrusted clothes? The popularity of the Ed Hardy range owes nothing to style magazines or fashionistas - it has become famous for its inclusion in celebrity wardrobes. Although the designs of skulls, roses and tigers are the work of US tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy, they have been transformed into a global brand by French designer Audigier, who has covered a wall in his Los Angeles office with 70 paparazzi shots of Madonna wearing his clothes. Audigier says he is now working with the star to produce her own clothing range. He was also meant to be working with Michael Jackson on a clothing brand at the time of the singer's death in June, and Audigier created stage outfits which were to be used in Jackson's comeback tour. The free publicity from these celebrity endorsements has proved a successful marketing plan - this month, Hubert Guez, chief executive of Ed Hardy, predicted that the brand would generate sales of $400m this year. 'I associate the brand with Madonna,' says Ellie Crompton, style editor of Heat magazine. 'It would make sense for them to collaborate on a project. He's a strong horse to back in fashion, and part of the interest comes from his personality. He's a crazy character and fashion loves a character.' As Ed Hardy clothing has become more famous, so has Audigier. The designer, who started his career working for 80s brands such as Fiorucci and Naf Naf, is as flamboyant as the sparkling T-shirts and hooded tops that have made him rich. Britney Spears, Pamela Anderson and Michael Jackson were guests at his 50th birthday party last year. In an interview with American GQ last month, Audigier said he was due to appear in a film with rapper 50 Cent and to record an album with Kanye West. He told GQ: 'Obama was 200% advertising. I promote myself to sell my brands. Because now I am a kind of celeb. I am in a different world than the fashion industry. I am with Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Madonna. I build me as a celebrity.' But will his clothing range catch on in Britain when the store opens in west London's Westfield Centre this week? 'Stars like David Beckham and Madonna have a massive reach with the British public,' says Crompton, 'so I can see it having a far-reaching appeal to the mass market. But how long can Audigier make that last? The label's got a very strong image, but I don't see how he can diversify the brand. It might be this year's fad.' From The Observer

30 November - Something to remember: All the world is a stage
...and everyone has their part. With that Shakespearean line as the centerpiece of the song's bridge, Take A Bow signals a very special period in Madonna's career. The closing track and also the second single of the Bedtime Stories album, Take A Bow received exceptional video treatment from Madonna, and the final result of that premiered on MTV exactly 15 years ago, on November 30th, 1994. Madonna flew to historic town Ronda in Spain with the direction of Michael Haussman and created a videoclip that would serve as her plea to get her dream role as Eva Peron. Executed in a 40s style, the video showed Madonna at her classiest yet, in a Galliano dress she shone as the mistreated lover of a famous bullfighter, eventually running away from him. The storyline is interspersed with scenes of bullfighting and Madonna showing her assets in bed, not entirely abandoning the explicit Erotica years. The gorgeous video would go onto winning the Best Female Video at the 1995 VMAs and yielded a follow up in the form of the You'll See video where Madonna has the higher hand and escapes from her stalker. While the video undoubtedly gave the single the push to become a classic, the ballad also stands on its own merits with its Oriental-tingled instrumentation (which is also inspired by the Paul Robeson version of the classic poem "Trees"), Craig Armstrong's amazing string arrangement and Madonna's silky smooth vocals backed by co-writer/co-producer Babyface, one of the most famous hitmakers at the time. But it's the song's chart performance that made it a remarkable entry in Madonna's career. All formats of the single were released days after the video premiere and both sales and airplay would slowly and steadily climb until the end of January, when Madonna gave her first and so far only live performance of the song at the American Music Awards (the only time she sang at this show). Dressed in a Chinese gown, Madonna gave a simple but effective performance backed by an orchestra and Babyface himself, which gave great exposure to the song in the US and soon after it would climb to #1, kicking the Dallas Austin produced "Creep" by TLC from the top spot and holding it for seven weeks, which would be the longest ever for a Madonna single. While the sales of Take A Bow exceeded 600,000 copies in the US which earned it a Gold certification, it failed to reach the Platinum status of her other megahits as it was airplay where the track was really shining: it was the most played song of America for nine straight weeks. The success of the single also helped the album to stop falling down the chart and it managed to stay in the Top 20 during the Christmas season, which would eventually become the only reason why Bedtime Stories outsold Erotica in the US, as after Take A Bow started its slow descent on the charts, the album went with it and subsequent single releases didn't have much effect. Outside the US the single also became a big hit in Canada, Japan and Australia, her other main markets of the 90s. In Europe, however, Madonna got some of her worst chart positions ever when this single got lost in the Christmas shuffle, like in Belgium, or in the UK, where it was her then-lowest peaking single and is one of the six Madonna singles that failed to reach the UK Top 10. Madonna gave 2 lip-synced performances of Take A Bow at Germany's Wetten Dass and Italy's San Remo which gave better chart performances in those countries. The success of Take A Bow allowed it to become one of the 4 songs in Madonna's discography that can be found on 4 different Madonna albums. Featuring on all the compilations released after the single itself, proves that among all of Madonna's ballad hits of the mid-90s, Take A Bow is the pinnacle. Unfortunately Take A Bow has never been performed live on a Madonna tour and is the only one out of the 34 hits of the Celebration compilation that was not used on a tour in any form. It is speculated that Madonna intentionally refuses to perform songs on her tours that have a "goodbye" theme. Maybe Madonna is saving Take A Bow to be her last ever live performance? Time will tell...

SING Campaign Second Anniversary
SING, the Annie Lennox song performed with the "Choir of 23" international singers and including Madonna was released two years ago today, December 1st, to coincide with World Aids Day. To celebrate SING's second anniversary, Annie Lennox is auctioning five very special prizes. The money raised will help prevent the spread of HIV in South Africa, where 1,000 people die from AIDS-related causes every day. Moreover, approximately a third of all pregnant women there carry the virus, and without intervention, a third of their children will be born with HIV. Unless they get diagnosed and treated, half of all children with HIV die before their first birthday. But it doesn't have to be like this. With appropriate intervention and treatment, these babies can be born HIV free. The SING campaign is trying to ensure that every single person living with HIV has access to treatment and support. Since 2007, SING has raised over $2 million, and helped over 100,000 people affected by HIV in the Eastern Cape of South Africa - but there is much more work to be done, and we need your help to do it. Click here to visit the website and place your bid today!

The story behind the facts
Raising Malawi Executive Director Philippe van den Bossche posted this entry on the site's blog today, on World AIDS Day. Today is World AIDS Day - a time for us all to pause and to reflect. We could spend the day giving you shocking statistics, but today we wish to share with you stories of courageous people, not so different from you and me. In Malawi, HIV/AIDS impacts everyone - mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and even sons and daughters. Loving people of flesh and blood, who are just trying to make the best of their situation. Edith and her son Sinode were one such family. Watch their story in the video embedded here: In some areas of Malawi it can cost $2 to travel to proper medical care. For many Malawians like Edith, this is an expense well beyond their means. It takes the kind of strength and determination Edith exhibited just to make it to a hospital. Her courage not only inspires me, but will no doubt be an incredible life lesson for her son. Many of us can relate to the experience of having to care for family members or raise children while being sick ourselves. But few of us have had to overcome the financial and logistic hurdles that Edith faced to receive basic medical care. Learn more about Edith's story here. Sinode and many other children in Malawi need our help. They have witnessed the courage of their parents and family members, but too many are now left alone, orphans raising orphans. Today, on World AIDS Day, I encourage you to think of the faces of this epidemic - beautiful, courageous people confronting a life-threatening disease with incredible bravery. The people of Malawi have shown great depth of character, but now it's up to us to ensure the future of their next generation. It is the children of Malawi that will raise their great nation. Check out more and donate at raisingmalawi.org - Madonna will match your contribution.
