Since a couple of weeks ago, before any sound (the ipod being locked, a song starting, a song beginning etc) there is a long and quite loud crackling noise. It comes and goes but it is bloody irritating. Anybody know what to do?

Hmmm guess you've tried resetting it/checking out the volume settings?

Will give it a reset and will see, I can just see it as the speaker being partially blown though :/

I have an ipod touch, but i'm not sure which "gen" it is,. it's been flawless though, never had any problems with it, i love it.

Your best bet would to go in store somewhere. Are you lucky enough to have an Apple store near by? It really shouldn't be making those noises, that's not right.
