Default Judge rules on Jehovah's Witness baby blood transfusion...

A High Court judge has said a baby boy can undergo blood transfusions despite his parents' objections.

The baby has complex heart disease but his parents, who are Jehovah's Witnesses, said they could not consent to a transfusion on religious grounds.

Right decision IMO.

Yes I agree, but I do also understand many people also die from transfusions, you don't hear about those so much.

While I respect the parents' wishes if they were applied to themselves, the judge was right in my opinion, to reach this decision for the baby,

The baby couldn't consent for itself so imo I think it has to have any help it can get.

I'm sorry I don't know the gender of the baby lol.

Yup this tbh

The child might not even grow up to follow the same religion as their parents anyway

It would be wrong to force a transfusion on an adult who didnt want one. But to allow a child to get one against their parents wishes, I think its ok. As a parent I cant imagine the thought of letting my kid die because of religion even entering my mind :/
