European officials ask Luxembourg
to reveal details of the online retailer's tax status, to see if it has a "sweetheart" deal. [Amazon's warehouse working conditions have been criticised] Of course but Amazon com is Proof the Capitalism is Good [Online retail firm Amazon is facing a potential investigation by EU officials over its Luxembourg tax hub. According to the Financial Times, the EU's competition commission has demanded that the country's Grand Duchy hand over documents of the tax status given to Amazon, including any potential state aid. The retailer has come under increasing scrutiny over structures that allow customer revenue from member states to be assessed for taxation purposes at its Luxembourg hub.
